The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

We went to piza where I almost got in a fight with a curb side restaurant owner. At lunch they eat a heavy meal. Usually pasta, and it's too heavy during the day so I asked for a fork to share a plate and he said no! And said something about Americans. So being the woman I am I jumped up got in his face and said. " If it wasn't for America you would all be talking german". Needless to say I didn't eat there...lol

Ouch!

Whatever happened to the customer is always right?

And now that I opened the can of worms why when someone asks our nationality do we say. Irish,French italian,Italian, or a combination? Those of us born here are Americans, our heritage are those combinations but our nationality is American. 🇺🇸 Let me put this 🧼 📦 soap box away.
When the Olympics come around, check out the flags displayed on cars or houses! I’m not stirring up crap am I? 😁

I mean you can feel the attitude. ❤️

and one other thing. I'm not putting down others or there countries. Everyone should be proud to display there flags and be proud of there countries. And I hope everyone gets the point. 😇🇺🇸

I’ve got a good anecdote for this. My family immigrated from Scotland…waaaaaaaay back! 🤣. 1781 to be exact. Scots are a proud people and of course our family was no different. The local church near our family farm did two services…one in English and the other in Gaelic until 1899. I can even remember my great aunt’s and uncles using Gaelic terms and slang growing up. My grandparents also. So, proud of our heritage no doubt.

I was in the service deployed in support of Bosnia and met a Scottish drinking buddy who worked for the DOD. We were drinking and telling lies, and I was yammering on about my Scottish heritage, when he stops me and asks, “what flag do you stand and salute, and sing the anthem for?” 😂.

Well put my friend…

Life has been hectic and crazy. Things got crazier and crazier as things spiraled out of control. The last two years were misery for those I love and loved most. There was nothing that could be done, and it was not anybody's fault.

I could have made better decisions. I look back with utter regret, sadness, and guilt. Life is cruel, and unfair.

My dad immigrated from Scotland (Perth)
He was proud to see me in my Full Kilt when I came of age to wear it and I still wear it occasionally in his honor
I've only been "home" twice since he passed and I sorely miss it

Hun, look forward not back. Not one of us doesn't regret a decision. But moving forward we try. And that's all you or the rest of us can do.
