The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

My parents would steam them and so as a kid I was not impressed. However, I found a way to slice them, marinate with a teriyaki sauce and then broil them.
My sister said she wouldn't have liked them the way they were cooked when mom was a kid. I don't recall how, but my sister was a fan of broiling.
I shave them and then use olive oil - plain or infused - and then either eat plain or use them as a topping for pizza or a toasted sandwich. Mmm 🤤

That's the pact, right? We're nice to the vehicle and in return the vehicle is nice to us... no breakdowns or flat tires. 🤝 Agreed!

I talk to mine. I talk to all of mine. The truck. The Harley. The other Harley. The Packard. Hell, I even talk to the lawn mower sometimes.

I draw the line at the fucking vacuum cleaner. The cats don't like it much.

That's a pretty typical cat thing. I'm always surprised to see videos of cats that like the hose being used on them (not like that, Sin ;))

My dad used to nickname all the cars. Some of my siblings have continued that tradition in their own households. Dad would nickname almost anyone or anything. Such a character!

Petunia, Morticia, Zelda, Fred . . . . They have names. Things have gotten named for most of my life. Critters rarely were called by their given names and usually had nicknames.

My old cat couldn't care less about the vacuum. He sits and watches it work.

Good evening everyone.
As a way introduction - I am a bit over 50, not new to Lit (this is just a new account), but new to this thread. Thought I should stop by and say hi after reading for a bit now.
Welcome NehaGin…good group of folks here. We got doctors, nurses, cowboys, lumberjacks, gold miners (and diggers🤣), world explorers and chefs of all stripes!

You’ll fit right in I”m sure!

If my memory is not failing me, you are supposed to have cowboys and truckers, not lumberjacks! Though lumberjacks are probably much more fit :)

Gold diggers are an expected group to show up anywhere on Lit, and over 50 folks on everage have more gold to be dug than the 20+ crowd.
