Okay. DKovic, you're not new here. I'm not a conservative by any stretch of the imagination so. . .yeah I don't even really know what you're on about. The one point you make that at least kind of applies is that our government runs on compromise. Except it doesn't. The way our government is set up the minority party has zero reasons to compromise. They can hold their breath until they pass out. When they hit their heads and scream that the majority bullied them people buy it. We've seen this pattern since Obama at least.

I have a hard time believing the Ukraine funding was ever in any real risk of being cancelled. Nobody seems to care enough about Taiwan to push or block funding there at all. I'm against funding Israel but I accept that things happen the way they happen and there is nothing to be done for it. Sometimes life sucks and you simply have to deal with it.

I'm not sure why it would be a bad thing at this point to let the government descend into chaos while the Dems spend a few weeks doing each and every news show. Not just MSM, go on those little punk shows on Youtube that are run by three guys out of a living room. The one where the cat keeps jumping up on the book case and staring at the camera like something out of a horror flick. Get the message out. How long are we going to just let the Right hold the country hostage whenever they don't get there way.

If Congress was working on a third speaker in what? Not even a full year how many more REpublicans would just peace out? Sounds like a logical way to get a Dem majority.

We've had basically a year of doing nothing in Congress. As you've no doubt heard, this Congress produced the least amount of legislation in over 100 years. I understand gridlock, you do too. The hardliners in the house took gridlock to a new level. Literally nothing was accomplished, except the last minute continuing resolution to keep the govenment funded.

This is exactly what the nihilists in Congress wanted. They thrive on Chaos. They came to work each day, postured for the camera with speeches full of Sturm und Drang, got their photo ops on Fox news and churned out fundraising letters.

This is not any way to run a first world government. Ukraine was about to collapse due to lack of material promised by the USA, this was a real-world crisis to them (us, not so much). America's standing in the world would have taken a credibility hit, which was the wrong thing at the wrong time when we're still recovering from the damage Trump did to American foreign policy.

I'm normally a staunch advocate of "let them sort out the mess they made" but it was affecting the whole of America. I held my nose and nodded weakly at this Compromise From Hell to get Ukraine and Taiwan the arms they needed (Glad President Biden is holding back bombs from the Israeli ethnic cleansers though).

Putting MTG back in her box was a necessary evil. Side note: keep an eye on the Congressman from the district right next to her, Mike Collins. He appears to be one of the more virulent racists in Congress, bubbling just below the surface of national public opinion.

Ahaha, Stormy Daniels just about sunk that case against Trump. Trump's J6 trial is on hold pending a SCOTUS decision on immunity. Fani Willis is under investigation for corruption by the State of Georgia and her trial against Trump has been halted. Jack Smith just admitted to evidence tampering in the documents case which has been removed from the docket by Judge Cannon to hear a motion to dismiss based on Smith's evidence tampering, a motion on Smith's illegal appointment, and a motion alleging selective prosecution. If Smith is found to have tampered with evidence he could be charged with mishandling classified information and obstruction of justice, and he could be disciplined by the DOJ's Office of Professional Responsibility. So in all, it doesn't look good for any of these political trials of Joe Biden's leading opponent.
