The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

What I've done so far, fried onion, mushrooms, bacon, pork sausages. I'll wait for guests to arrive before I start the eggs and toast.
We bake our bacon now. About 400° for 20 minutes cooks thick-cut bacon nearly perfectly. I like it slightly underdone so I can warm it in the microwave when ready to eat. 😋

Good morning early risers, night owls, or afternoon or evening to those on the other continents.

Today is May Day. Warming into the unusual warm 75 to 80 F. I have a delightful 2 hours with my grand daughter this morning.
Nothing like the innocence of children to reorder your thinking! 🥰🥰

Here's one of my favorite songs from one of my favorite movies!

I have to drive in to work today. An hour there and back for a 2 hour kumbaya meeting....... to tell the team (update) everything we are doing that we have already discussed in the 34 meetings we have already had
Don't you just love those management "gotta get everyone together and waste their time" meetings? And why isn't the rest of the group held accountable for information given to them? 😠😠

One of the things I hated about my job before I retired was that I had very little authority but nearly 100% accountability. I frequently felt I was trapped in an unwinnable Catch 22. 🤬🤬 Doctors and administrators continually acted as if CMS requirements were my own personal fiefdom!

Them - "Just contact CMS and get this requirement changed."

Me - "That's not how any of this works." 🙄🙄

Hey can I get toast and coffee.

Anybody had cataract surgery? At least I learned it wasn’t related to this activity.View attachment 2343890
I have! I had both eyes done a month apart with lens implants. I felt fine the next day after each surgery and was able to go to work. Easy-peasy!

You will likely need cheaters or reading glasses for up close work as one loses accommodation after surgery. I have dollar store readers all over the house and in both vehicles.

Before my surgery, I was able to take out my contacts and get really close to my fingers to do my nails. I now have magnifiers I wear to do them. I also need a magnifying mirror to do eye makeup.

Took a while to get to sleep and then I woke up after 5 hours due to additional hydration for a pesky issue that should be resolved in a few weeks*.

Sorry your night was cut short, too. 😥
Makes for a long day.

*all is well - working w/ dr - it's just annoying at this point
up hydration = extra pit stops & shorter sleep cycles
don't up hydration = ow, ow, ow
I hope your issues are resolved soon! 🫂🫂

I have an appointment to do double cateract surgery in 6 months but I'm leary, because I'm diabetic and I don't heal well.
Talk to your ophthalmologist and endocrinologist, RJ. They should be able to alleviate your fears. Also, ask your ophthalmologist to request a great anesthesiologist if you're anxious.

Cataract surgery is very easy and safe. You should have minimal recovery time. 🫂🫂

I have to use the zoom feature on everything electronic like this tablet and I have special glasses 👓 to be able to drive. Diabetes type 2, I have had for about 30+ years & it's getting worse . Is it the Diabetes or is it because I am 70?
It's probably a bit of both, RJ!

Yep, work is done for today. Mah feetses are sore from overuse. I'm getting more exercise than I had been - walking mostly. I wore the better shoes today, so that was good.

They emailed me the deed for the closing next week, and they got my bit wrong. Good thing I didn't assume. Now I have the correct one. That'll be Saturday morning's errand, going to the bank to see the notary, and then to the FedEx or whomever. If someone asks what I'm doing, I will tell them that I'm running the streets. Meh, decidedly First World problems.
Glad you're on top of those things, Wat!
