I took care of people in the er that started fires with gasoline.... the story always started the same way..."well we were having a bonfire and I couldn't get it going fast enough so i......."
People are so careless sometimes. It doesn’t take much to start a fire.

Not to mention starting other things on fire… nearby trees and brush and yes, themselves.

I hope they are doing well and learned from their mistakes.

We started a fire Friday night. It was really calm out and then as soon as we start the fire, the wind started gusting.

It can be really dangerous. Luckily, we just let the fire burn out and kept an eye on it.

Yeah.... I saw one last night that was a doozy. The rule here is 3x3x3.... 3 feet wide and high 3 feet from a structure. Also a visible water source or way of extinguishing if out of control. We have lots of fields and farmers get testy....I don't blame them

I decided to help a battling fire along with gasoline once .... fortunately I got off lightly but it was scary enough that I won't do it again.

It stinks that it happened but if there is a silver lining, it at least happened early in the season, with cool-ish weather still around as opposed to say, August 🥵
This happened to us. August. 95+ heat that summer and humid to boot. I didn’t have a wine fridge then. I bet I poured close to $500 or more wine down the drain that was spoiled in that heat. They couldn’t get the unit replaced for 4 days. I forgot all about the wine.

Ya live, ya learn…
