SWIFTSSSSSSSSSSS

*Points upwards*
Visited a working water mill in Lake District this week; there were swallows nesting in the rafters; not phased at all by being only a few feet away

My parents have a family of swallows that make nests in their coal house every year. Mam can't hang the washing out without a hat on as they go for her when their chicks are still hatching.
They love it though and would never dream of trying to move them on.

We've got someone who lives nearby who flies a Falcon around to hunt Pigeons and the odd Magpies. In the city centre we have a pair of Peregrine Falcon's that nest on a building. They have quite a following.

Last year, I was bought a private bird of prey experience as a gift. It lasted about three hours and I flew 7 different owl species, these different eagles, a Harris Hawk and a Peregrine. It was absolutely wonderful. I didn't want the day to end.

The Peregrine decided it had had enough halfway through my flight with it and went off for a jolly.

And this little sweetheart apparently developed a crush on me. It didn't want to leave my arm.

We might have had the same dude - Alistair? We also did the Harris Hawk walk and it flew through the woodland from tree to tree, following us.

He told me the week before they'd been doing some filming for Countryfile and the Harris had shat all over John Craven. 🤣

Can't remember his name but it was near Newby Wiske in North Yorkshire. They've moved location now though
