Wondering why if you're in a loveless marriage you'd rather cheat than leave?

That is a fair question. Without going into too much detail about my life in a public forum, I believe leaving would be the most hurtful option for the people around me.

I understand others may see my position as morally indefensible, and they would make a different choice. That is fair as well. All I can say is that I am basing my choices on my own life and my own experience, not anyone elses.

I know that there are others in a similar position who have made the same choice - that leaving is not the right option for them. But that does not mean they do not deserve to seek attention and affection elsewhere.

It isn’t your responsibility to police the forums or anyone else’s choices. People come here for a variety of reasons from a variety of circumstances. You are free to operate by whatever code of conduct or morality you like, but that doesn’t elevate you to judge and jury of anyone else. People here are not repercussion free punching bags because of your own experiences.

Thank you. This was exactly what I have been unable to articulate. And, if I had a dollar for every time an evolved soul told me to just leave my marriage instead of being here, I’d be even richer than I am now

And now for a bit more honesty - I promise that I am not throwing shade on the OP.

However, in my experience, the underlying suggestion accompanying the question always is that the unhappiness is some sort of excuse to feed a needless addiction to fuck someone new. I frankly find it insulting.

Here is why. I think wading through hundreds (if not thousands) of absolutely worthless, waffling, unintelligent, soulless characters/profiles/people to find that one person to connect is something incredibly lonely and hurt people do. And they expect to not be judged - especially here.
