The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

I almost never unless I need something specific.
I almost always have a cart running w/ weekly specials & personal staples, so if I think I'm missing something I'll check the app for whichever store I'm shopping.
I'm old fashioned. I wait until I'm almost out of something or somethings and then once a week I'll go shopping.

same but may need to shift to smaller shops 2-3x a week instead. finding I do better with slightly under-ripe fruit and very fresh veg. once weekly isn't fresh enough anymore.
wish I lived in a walkable neighborhood with lots of small bodegas with fresh options. 🤷‍♀️

Bodega, I went to the DR last year and it was great. People just finished work, a few beers and a dance in the street.

@English_guy_bkk
smoke and mirrors, my good man, smoke and mirrors

Edit: When you forget the list, is there someone you can call for an assist? Being single, it really doesn't matter if I make or bring a list - it's all on me either way.

Who needs a Midwest Bloody Mary?
Yes, it's a thing - I have seen family members order and consume this exact creature!

Same here. I did get some things not on the list today, and I forgot something which should have been on the list and wasn't. I do best when I note things on the list during the week. And it's still over $100 for me and 4 cats. They got nothing this week.

Yum...with veggies and pepper bacon and all the stuff in it?

Almost Evening
First church, then visitors, then grocery shopping...
My family and I have the same routine. Well almost. Sunday Mass, grocery shopping and not one but two places ........ The regular grocery kike ShopRite and then the Asian grocery kike Heart or 99 Ranch then we go home and often have someone over for a late lunch or early dinner. Tiring day and I'm already in bed at 824pm 😳

We’re starting over. Not being divisive, but I think it was just time to start a new thread.

Talk about whatever you want: food, sheds, baby goats, nudist camps. Let’s avoid politics, religion or drama.

Order a coffee. A beer. And a nice dessert. Let the barkeep know what’s on your mind.
Will be hitting the big 50 later this week. Gonna celebrate with a Ruth's Chris Steakhouse visit and embrace the milestone. No signs of slowing down either!

Whiskey tonite please.

I’m exhausted.

Got all of the demo done for our back steps/small deck. But the guy who was gonna frame it out for me couldn’t make it yesterday.

We had a huge branch of a maple tree break off and so I took it alart and will probably get a good 1/2 cord of firewood out of what’s left.

Today I saw my mom then my sister. When I got home I mowed the lawn at our house, then the farm yard. Just finished the building lawn my wife and I own. I was pretty much weed whacking in the dark!

That's why I rarely clear my online grocery cart - I just keep adding/removing each time I visit. If I do a delivery or pick up order it gets cleared, but otherwise...

veggies and bacon and stuff, lots and lots of stuff ... sure thing. coming right up.
hmm, possible I didn't eat enough for dinner. Apple and almond butter time for me. :D
I paid for my 1/2 beef today.... 4$ a pound. I pay for processing when I pick up
our family used to do this when I was a kid. 1/2 a cow from the butcher was our main meat for the year. when we could, we'd go 1/2 on a pig with another family, too. pig was so popular it didn't happen every year. we had a full-size, upright freezer - with a lock. Not to keep us out but to keep the door properly shut so nothing would spoil.
