Anyone from the UK?

Er... why? Something she did, or just memories linked to her in general?

Imagine being in a shop for hours on end and the choice is a red shoe, or a slightly darker red shoe. Then after a hour in which there’s no conversation with you, she gets the blue one instead. Now repeat that for the next nine hours with no breaks, not even for coffee.

Exes are exes for a reason, and this should have been a big red flag right at the start of what was a pretty poor time for me romantically. She was the second long term ex and I really got put off shopping and other things for a good while in my 20s! (It’s better now).

But you learn what you can and can’t accept in a relationship and the next few exes were better.

My very first ex was the real deal, a definite “what could have been” had everything been different. I sometimes wonder if she’s out there somewhere, doing well. I hope she is. I hope she’s happy.

To her, that experience felt like 5 minutes and she has no idea where the time went.

That was the best shopping trip she had in her life. She came away with pretty blue shoes too.

Sounds like going shopping with my mother

Hmmm. Not what I experienced with her, tbh. Never saw any joy post shopping in anything she bought.

But I’d like to believe what you said. It’s a really nice thought and better than being bitter!

Liverpool is cool, it has a lighthouse.

Glasgow is fabulous, Edinburgh leaves me a bit cold (and I don't mean the weather)

York is nice too

But i'm a Londoner.
Glasgow > Edinburgh for sure. I honestly don't get why people want to go to Edinburgh for holidays, it's like a place you see for a day then escape while you can.

Glasgow has some life about it.

You know, that's why they have those benches by the palm trees and the fountains... for bored husbands and bfs 😂

I must confess, I'm guilty of this. Except now I mostly shop online so me deciding on something can take days. Or in my recent search for a pair of jeans, months. I ended up buying the one I initially looked at months before 😳

I do sympathise with you on the lack of interaction, and food! That's just rude. One needs to hydrate and feed their slaves partners. It's the responsible thing to do.

I'm guessing the inspiration for Peta?

I love Edinburgh! I did get lost there though, looking for a building. Ended up in a place called Leith where the lamps were purrtty. Decided I couldn't walk all the way back again so went looking for the bus stop. Got lost doing that too and found myself in Edinburgh. So was an entire day spent walking. Seriously hated myself for forgetting to wear my fitbit that day.

Slaves :ROFLMAO: I don’t mind shopping, honest! It’s just the lack of interaction. Like - let me get involved, I like a good shop too. I like to think I have good taste in clothes…!

Mmmmmmm…! For another thread entirely I think. It would take a while to psycho analyse me, for sure :ROFLMAO:

Leith is lovely to be fair. The best bit of Edinburgh for me is that walk up the castle overlooking the town. There’s a lovely park not far from the train station which you can wander in for hours on end.

In an upcoming story, the couple are in Ed and get lost, trying to find a cafe, but being on the wrong level.

must remember to post it at some point.

I like Edinburgh, but Glasgow has character and soul.. also a great music scene. Edinburgh is just pretty and good for black and white photography!
