I almost always crate mine in the car. But I do have a seat belt thing that clips on her harness and can be attached to the seat belt. If she's too fussy in the crate, she can sit on my husband's lap and still be safe.

She's really pretty good in the truck. Translation: she doesn't just pace-n-yell. There will be some conversation until she accepts the inevitability of it all. She does make laps regularly, and she will step on the controls on the driver's door and roll down windows sometimes, but I've gotten used to that and put my arm over the controls. She's good company.


Some days, she comes to work with me. People ask why there's a litter box in my office.


As for the tunes, I donated my CDs. There's a church across the alley that really puts its efforts into the community, especially for the down-n-out, so I help them out with regular donations. They also watch my house if I'm out of town - have my six, so to speak. It's great to be able to donate stuff that has uses left that I'll never use again - DVDs, clothes, household items and the like. Good for them, good for me.

I am leasing a car today as I need a bigger car for grandpa’s taxi

During my divorce, I gave away my LP and turntable, speakers and console to young colleagues who were collectors. They were delighted with my Buffalo Springfield and Cream LPs.

Now I use Pandora for channels like Bruce Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac, and Credence Clearwater etc.

I can't remember the first CD I bought. I have a large collection of them, too. Luckily, they're easy to rip; every CD I buy gets ripped instantly now. I'm moving away from them now, too. I just bought two Disturbed albums as MP3.

Yeah I'm also loving Spottify, everything you want is right there at your fingertips, every artist and genre to suit your mood, you can also explore new stuff, or older music you weren't really into but were curious about.

A guy at work was a Spotify guy. We shared similar tastes. He'd pick tunes and I'd read Today In History.


He died a bit over a year ago. Too damned young.

I am not a huge audiophile, but we have a few turntables and a CD player still plus a CD player on an old Mac.

But my wife had a killer technics set up.

And a great Tecnics t shirt.

No shade on Spotify or other streaming services but they have changed the way music sounds.

If you queue up a song please listen to the whole thing, the artist doesn’t get paid if you bail in under 30 seconds, they get an apportioned payment for less than the whole song, but you can be guaranteed they get the full payment if the entire track plays.

It also helps a song to get promoted to the streaming services featured play lists which is like money in the bank. You can Google how artists are paid and listen accordingly.

Remember the long beautiful introductions? Think Stairway to Heaven or Hotel California; you don’t hear them any more because people hit the skip too fast.

So artists move the hook up to the beginning of the song and keep it short so you don’t bail before the end. $$$ It’s a business.

Music being produced today is no better or worse than 50 years ago, it’s a reflection of artists adapting to the monetary reality of the streaming world.

It’s no different than rock bands in the 60’s cranking out 2:30 songs for the A.M. market. You gotta play the game or be the “Unknown Artist” who never made it.

I subscribe to Tidal. I love it cos it gives me huge access to artists I’d never have listened to if I were only to buy LPs/tapes/CDs. Plus I don’t have to move from the couch to change the music

1st album I remember buying with my own money was Iron Maiden - Number of the Beast, been a metal head about 40 years, grew up with a lot of vinyl in the house, Aerosmith, Genesis, Led Zepp, havnt owned a turntable in about 25 years but there's a record store opened round the corner where I work and I'm damn tempted to put some money by and buy a good set up again and start trawling the bargain bins and make my collection again.
And as for Spotify I 100% agree it's helped change how music sounds and is made, it's so strange when it gives the end of year review and tells me what I've played the most, my top 5 for 2023 were The Cure, Genesis, Robert Jon and The Wreck, Bob Seger and Steppenwolf

My first CD was Depeche Mode 101 (a double live album).

My problem now is, I have 2 boxes of CDs of music that I love, but never listen to. So, question for all my 50-plus friends, what do I do with a CD collection, that is priceless to me, but worthless to everyone else.

You can’t sell them, you’ll get nothing in return for all the $ you spent on them (average was $8 in the ‘80 early 90’s).

I thought I could unload some old CD’s in a used music store…the guy told me unless something is really rare or something in high demand (Dark Side of The Moon) he couldn’t use them.

We have those old tower stacks of CD’s, and we don’t even own a CD player anymore. I just want to box them and away to the attic, but the wife can’t let go! So there they sit…gathering dust…
