The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Today is Sunday and good morning to those in Canada and USA, afternoon or evening for those in other countries. The weather in the Great Lakes State is cool sunny and warming. Tomorrow we reach another 6oF day. For those along the eastern coast of USA and Canada - yikes on the flooding and snow I saw this morning on the TV.
Good afternoon! It's a partly sunny day here. Some clouds but I can actually see blue sky! We sent out weather system on. Sorry, upper Midwest and East Coast!

Hosting my grandsons 11th birthday party today to give my over worked daughter a break. That and my wife's health struggles make it hard for her to go anywhere for more than an hour or so.

Going to have a houseful of 10-12 years olds running around. Should be a lot of fun, um yeah. Fun
Yikes! 😳😱😳

Could have been a lot worse. We were supposed to get 2.5” of rain and only got 1.5.

In January we got two 3” rainstorms a few days from each other which buckled the old barn foundation in this video.

Here’s part of our farm property yesterday. Altho I never like water up and over the culvert i believe it was designed to let water go over it.

Wow! You've got your own little river, complete with some whitewater! It looks like some areas around here when we get more rain than the rivers can handle.

Thank you for that warning!
It would be nice if there were an identifier somewhere ie a red circle around the avatar or a red dot by the name indicating an individual has had many posts removed. I understand some posts are blocked/removed for bad behavior but it would be good to know when a MOD is having to remove posts for illegal material.

I appreciate you! I don't know if Mods are paid or not but thank you for all you do-
That would really be helpful.

it is always a tough day, followed by days of confusion when I think I hear or see the pet where I expected them....
"Tidying" is also a tough process, as toys, feeders, leftover food, and all of the other things get moved aside.

One discovery I've made ... raising dogs for an organization that provides service dogs to people with disabilities other than blindness. Get the pup at 8 weeks,
......endure the couple of months of really sharp teeth and puppy random behavior,
..............socialize, train, and lots of hands-on activity
....................turn them in for their advanced training with professionals.
When they leave, the dogs are 18-22 months old, in great condition, going off to school. I know they are in a great place, having fun, learning more.
If they succeed and get placed, there is a HUGE amount of gratitude from the person who needed the dog (and others who have gotten dogs over the years).

meanwhile, there's another puppy..... and the cycle goes on.
It does rip a hole in our hearts when they leave us. When my first girl died, I gave away all of her things and food. Now, I will just give away the food then clean everything else and pack it away, knowing that eventually someone will come along to heal my heart.

You are doing the Lord's work! My husband is blind. I've looked into getting him a guide dog but he's not interested. Meanwhile, I'm here with my fluffy little girl on my lap.

I'm trying to lose weight and avoid adding a medication to the morning routine .... so I'm temporarily off wine and cheesecakes. 25 down, 15 or so to go....

But when that final number rolls over in "acceptable" range, I'm celebrating with either a cheesecake or a decadent carrot cake.
Way to go! 👊

Neither of our paintings look like the example we were given, but we had a blast! Had dinner at a nearby Mexican restaurant. First time having Birria tacos. I’m hooked! Anyone else had them?
If I was told to paint, mine would also look nothing like an example. More like an amorphous Miró. 🤣🤣

Your dinner sounds yummy! 😋

Yesterday was our Easter egg hunt for the village. I am on council so was talking to one of our police and these 2 walked up with these snarling dogs to a kids event. The asked the ages for the hunt and I was like I dont think ever set one of their kids is autistic so what we do is remove the age range for anyone who is developmentally delayed. So, I said for sure bring him over it should be starting at 11 , then I asked that they leave the dogs home they are super cute but other kids will be running around and one of the kids may be scared or it may scare the dogs. So after some grumbling they walked away to go get there 7 kids and put the dogs up.... I turned around and all 4 police were standing behind me..... I was like all right then...... the police know them already.......
Glad they protected you! Cops love nurses! ❤️
