My first dog I raised from a puppy. She was only 6 weeks old when I got her. My other 4 girls and one boy I got as adult dogs. My current dog was 5 when I got her. I'm always devastated when they leave me.

Also, there are many people who report problematic posts. That’s how we find most of them and it’s also why people know about the posts and about problematic members. They see people posting rule-breaking content and they report it.

I never saw a post by the person in question that was against the rules. I learned from other friends at other sites that you moderators are good at detecting and deleting them. I am stating this as one of you suggested we were enabling.

I absolutely understand your last question. But, here’s what I saw the other day:

I open up Lit and have numerous reports in my mod folder. I usually have one or two, when I have a bunch, I know something is up. I check and they are all reporting the same post by the same guy (mpeters). I don’t even have to click on the content to know it’s going to be underage content. I’ve removed his stuff before. He posts about being a substitute teacher and details about the crushes he experiences, he has posted about jacking off in a classroom. I go see what it is, and it’s a post about needing a massage but he’s currently in the classroom and the school would certainly frown on that with a “he he he.” Vague, but inappropriate, and several people were calling him out because they’ve seen his shit before.

He runs away to this forum, his 50+ thread and says he’s being bullied and that people are being mean to him for no reason and that he appreciates everyone here because they are nice. Someone follows and comments on the accusation of bullying and says what he was posting about. At this very moment, people SHOULD step back and realize they may not actually know this man. But instead, multiple people are like “Go away! Don’t bring drama to our nice thread. We are friendly here.”

I don’t care what someone has or hasn’t seen prior to that moment, but to flat out not hesitate and defend someone who is truly a stranger behind a pseudonymous username? Someone who had just been accused of posting underage icky content? I don’t care to give anyone who would immediately come to that person’s defense the time of day. I recognize that wasn’t the whole thread or everyone here, but it was a few people. There were some who reached out via PM to me and another member and asked for details and thanked us for speaking up. That’s a much more appropriate response.

Incidentally, mpeters deleted over 2,000 posts before he was banned. And I checked the Mod Queue. He has 3 pages of posts there, so close to 75 posts that have been removed from the forums for a variety of reasons. The other day, I removed 3 CLEARLY underage images, teen girls, and I edited the post instead of moving to the Mod Queue. I replaced the post with a warning about posting underage content. He then changed his user title to “Persecuted” and deleted 2000+ images he had posted.

For those who would reply to this, “but he was always nice to me,” I’m fairly certain this statement is made in most true crime documentaries as well.

It poured here all day yesterday, but today is nice and clear so hopefully I can get them outside to run around and play soccer or street hockey(I live on a seven house dead end street.) and tire themselves out. Lot of those around the site. There's a couple of creepers in the AH I know about from some of the female posters there-and there's easy tells for that kind of asshat-but that forum has devolved into the playground/personals 2.0 thanks mostly to one poster, so the crawlers are getting a bit bolder because they egg them on.

I know of whom you speak. I watch out for him. I have blocked some others who say hurtful things too. My friends on other sites let me know as well.

For those along the eastern coast of USA and Canada - yikes on the flooding and snow I saw this morning on the TV.

Could have been a lot worse. We were supposed to get 2.5” of rain and only got 1.5.

In January we got two 3” rainstorms a few days from each other which buckled the old barn foundation in this video.

Here’s part of our farm property yesterday. Altho I never like water up and over the culvert i believe it was designed to let water go over it.

Appreciate what the moderators do for sure. It’s gotta be a lot of thankless work and I’m sure the forums get more crowded each day.

It would be nice if there were an identifier somewhere ie a red circle around the avatar or a red dot by the name indicating an individual has had many posts removed. I understand some posts are blocked/removed for bad behavior but it would be good to know when a MOD is having to remove posts for illegal material.

it is always a tough day, followed by days of confusion when I think I hear or see the pet where I expected them....
"Tidying" is also a tough process, as toys, feeders, leftover food, and all of the other things get moved aside.

One discovery I've made ... raising dogs for an organization that provides service dogs to people with disabilities other than blindness. Get the pup at 8 weeks,
......endure the couple of months of really sharp teeth and puppy random behavior,
..............socialize, train, and lots of hands-on activity
....................turn them in for their advanced training with professionals.
When they leave, the dogs are 18-22 months old, in great condition, going off to school. I know they are in a great place, having fun, learning more.
If they succeed and get placed, there is a HUGE amount of gratitude from the person who needed the dog (and others who have gotten dogs over the years).

meanwhile, there's another puppy..... and the cycle goes on.
