The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

It’s pouring rain here in NJ and we’re helping a friend move…. Should be not fun.

Could be worse….

Dark roast I bet. I only grind Sumatra or other low acid dark roast coffees for the morning.
If you gently drizzle (use a gooseneck) hot water over the grounds (don’t soak) before you brew, pour, press etc you can smell the vapor carrying away the more objectionable portion of the acidity.

(Takes a bit of practice but three or four cups should do it)

That will make a very smooth cup without affecting the robust grind and allow people who don’t like the high acidity of the darker coffees to enjoy them.

Enters Cafe, looks around, ... "Oh, it's you lot again"
Wow, that was an eventful 24 hours, my (mostly) grey head is almost spinning. I guess we just carry on here as normal, I'm sure glad the group didn't just disappear.
The whole thing was awful.... I didn't even see anything bad just all of a sudden I am blissful in my ignorance ...good luck trying to ignore me...someone banned and new thread.....Can't say I dont have an ice feeling right now about the whole damn thing

What flavor would you like? I usually make mini cakes. I was using my muffin pans for them. Now I use jumbo muffin pans.
My cheesecake tastes have expanded over the past few years. There is a local winery that features a new flavor every week. I'd have to say that lemon-blueberry, and buckeye are tied for first place.

Listening to the white wing doves, the sparrows and the blue jays......coffee is dark roast double grind and black....waiting for my Sweetie to wake up.......

The offending posts weren't posted in the Over 50's thread, so most of us wouldn't have seen them, and I'm happy not to have seen.

This shot of a Southern Boubou made my day. Oh dear, file size is too large, I'll see what I can do.

Ok that one is up there for me as well—Glenlivet, I like the light blue bottle 12 year old

The Macallan is probably my all-time fave but I find the price to be a bit steep. That said, from what I have read, Costco’s Kirkland brand scotch IS in fact Macallan (AND Kirkland vodka is Grey Goose). In Canada our Costcos aren’t allowed to sell alcohol
But, you can get a heated steering wheel on your Sube.

Another first time spotting for me, I've never seen or photographed this particular little Kingfisher before (brown hooded). It was almost a miracle that I even spotted him, far off and small, I had to select manual focus to get a clear shot as surrounding twigs etc. confused the autofocus.20240323165044_IMG_4625-01.jpeg
