Nine rank-and-file Department of Homeland Security officials told the Daily Caller News Foundation they supported the House’s passage of impeachment articles against DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.

In a 214-213 vote Tuesday, the House voted to impeach Mayorkas over his handling of the southern border amid record illegal immigration. Seven Border Patrol agents and two Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officials expressed their animosity towards Mayorkas, but said that there is still a long road ahead in fixing the southern border despite the action.

“We have laws in place that are not being enforced due to Mayorkas’ leadership,” an ICE official told the DCNF. “If agents and officers were authorized to enforce the laws enacted by Congress this influx would not have occurred, but instead he pushes for agents and officers to process and release individuals as quickly as possible. Individuals are released into the United States with minimal background checks and minimal follow up.”

One Border Patrol agent responded to the news of Mayorkas’ impeachment by saying “fuck that puto,” referring to the masculine version of the Spanish slur meaning “prostitute.”

Texas' police now have that authority based upon a law pushed by that governor. The law isn't limited to people at the border who run or speak another language. You can't stop someone on the streets and demand proof of residency without cause, except now in Texas.

A major bipartisan bill that substantially revamped that system was worked on by very conservative Republicans, along with some Senate Democrats and the White House. It was the embodiment of a democratic process, give and take, with Biden giving more. It provided much of what the House members were demanding: border security funds, a wall, and stemming the flow of illegal entrance to the US. Many Republicans acknowledged it was the best bill in several decades for border security.

It passed the Senate and went to the House, you may recall. Donald Trump told the world it was dead on arrival, and Mike Johnson complied. The bill would have been a major win for Republicans if Trump had not turned it into a political platform talking point. Republican politics got in the way of National Security at the border.

Yes, there are things Biden could do. However, he requires funding for the police on the border and more court judges to process those apprehensions instead of catch-and-release. Mike Johnson failed to fund the resources for those patrols, judges, and detention centers needed to achieve this. Not one penny for the wall or the legal resources.

The Texas law does not address things just at the border. It applies everywhere in Texas, including stopping US citizens who match your criteria in any city.

Police must have a reason to stop someone suspected of a crime - this law gives them carte blank authority to randomly stop and question anyone, anywhere, and definitely fosters more animosity than ever about authoritarianism.

Texas Defies Biden Admin’s Demand It Give Access to Border​

Texas on Wednesday refused a demand from President Joe Biden's administration to give Border Patrol agents access to a section of the border the state blocked the federal government from accessing last week.

The letter of refusal from Texas's attorney general, Ken Paxton (R.), came in response to a demand from the Department of Homeland Security general counsel Jonathan Meyer that the Texas National Guard cease and desist its occupation of a 2.5-mile stretch of the southern border that includes Shelby Park in Eagle Pass, a highly trafficked area for crossings.

"Rather than addressing Texas’s urgent requests for protection, President Biden has authorized DHS to send a threatening letter through its lawyers," Paxton wrote. "But Texas has lawyers, too, and I will continue to stand up for this State’s constitutional powers of self-defense."

Meyer had argued in his Sunday letter that Texas violated the Constitution and impeded the federal government's ability to detect border crossings and apprehend migrants entering the country illegally.
