A Song for Everything

No denial here, I'm really not a Springsteen fan but I absolutely love a few of his songs... this is one of them...

Bruce Springsteen - Glory Days

Intuition (again, concept, not the word)

Phil Collins knows how to mic a snare drum. (He produced that one.)

Wow... um... okay... that's a depressing interpretation, and follow up word... are you okay? Need to talk? I'm available if you want to share.

I hate betrayal with an old world hate... so I won't be coming up with anything for this (I refuse to go there).
No, just an old song I enjoy. Abba fan. I will change the word.

No, don't.

Betrayal

Rancid "Fall Back Down"

"She's not the one coming back for you"

In 2003, Tim Armstrong's then wife, Brody Dalle (The Distillers), left to go back to Australia without a word. For a year, Tim didn't hear from her. He only found out she had returned when he saw the picture of her kissing Josh Homme (Queens of the Stone Age, whom I also think the song 'Rattlesnake" is about) In Rolling Stone magazine. Josh had been a problem in their relationship from the get go.

Fall Back Down is about having your friends there for you to pick you back up after getting stabbed in the back, so betrayal doesn't have to have the negative connotation.

Snare Drum
I was in fifth grade when I got my first snare drum. It was decades later when I finally accepted that there are multiple instruments I am really good at, drums really isn't one of them. But even still, one of the biggest improvements I made in my drumming, was because of Phil Collins.

Ultimately, I realized, I'm not a good drummer. For proper professional gigs, I'm best suited playing bass. For gigs where we are doing stylized pyrotechnic guitar? I'm your girl. When you need backup rhythm guitar and/or keys, I'm right for that too.

Drums? Nope. I ain't there anymore - and not sure I ever was (I just couldn't hear me).

Next song with a snare drum? I dunno.

Accepted. And also I love this song. And it is happy, for @BrendaD!

I've been trying to pick up bass again. Went for a long time collecting dust sitting in my room and I forgot just about everything. I love walking bass lines so I'm getting back into punk as a result.

Snare drum, so we don't skip over your topic
KoRn "Got The Life"

I'll let your current word be the next one.

OMG! Such a great topic! And this is a really wonderful song!!

Ben Harper - Steal My Kisses

But as a musician I need to point this out - Ben Harper is f-ing awesome... and his bass player? f-ing awesome squared. soooo goood!!!!

obsession (the concept)
Here is going to be another new one, but I love this guy.

Sleep

Statue (or art)
Metallica "Cyanide"

Say, is that rain or are they tears?
That stained your concrete face for years
The crying, weeping, shedding strife
Year after year, life after life
An air of freshly broken ground
A concrete angel laid right down
Upon the grave which swallows fast
It's peace at last, oh, peace at last

Sacrilege

Wow! That was quite a run. I would say sorry for dropping out early this evening, but Picasso was needed in the studio to paint another masterpiece. 😁

@BrendaD, tell me again why I didn't know you were a musician? No wonder you're so good at this...you creep! 😂

@UnquietDreams, your taste in music is starting to grow on me. If you know of a good psychoanalyst I might be in need of one soon. 🤕

@ZfrkS62, I hope this thread alleviated some of the boredom for you. You're a natural at this and I hope you keep coming back, 👍👍

Alright, @UnquietDreams, I blame you for me just waking up from a crazy dream about an after party at my house. @BrendaD, who was that you were spooning with on my couch? Crazy dream!

Oh, I love this game. You all have such different styles and tastes. Mine are...eclectic, heh. But every prompt makes me think, and that is lovely.

What model bass do you play, and who was your influence?

I got my first one at 17 for my birthday. Ibanez SR305DX. Korn, Limp Bizkit, and Godsmack were my top bands at the time, but Flea's licks were far too tempting. I recently bought a SR300E to start playing more punk and walking type riffs.
