That's not really convincing me here...A good toast is yum.
Being vegan kinda limits my options at the moment.. though I did enjoy a nice vegan ham toastie.. almost kinda like the real thing
Where are you?I know, tis a quarter to six in the morning here and I'm thinking of soft boiled egg and soldiers
Port au prince HaitiWhere are you?
Can I ask a real question? (I know, that's not the done thing on here)A good toast is yum.

because the texture and taste of meat is nice - for me personally im vegan as i dont want an animal to have died for me to have 10 mins of pleasure eating a bacon sandwhich, however it doesnt mean i dont like a bacon sandwhichCan I ask a real question? (I know, that's not the done thing on here)
But why, as a vegan, would you want your food to look and taste like animal meat?
I'm not trying to be a contrary cunt. I'm genuinely curious.because the texture and taste of meat is nice - for me personally im vegan as i dont want an animal to have died for me to have 10 mins of pleasure eating a bacon sandwhich, however it doesnt mean i dont like a bacon sandwhich
not at all. i would hope (im some distant future) that having those alternatives makes them the normality, that eating them becomes the acceptable norm. there no use pretending meat eating isnt the default for people. we live in world of meat eaters - thats just the reality - id hope as alternatives become better and more mainstream that more people do it.I'm not trying to be a contrary cunt. Doesn't making plant based food resemble the texture and taste of meat reinforce the normality and acceptability of eating meat?
over 15 mins im annoyed... if you go out to eat on a Friday tea time and you walk into a busy busy pub, how long would you expect to wait for your food?
Hold on, I'm currently thinking about vegetarians giving a blowjob..... if you go out to eat on a Friday tea time and you walk into a busy busy pub, how long would you expect to wait for your food?
Wow. Really? You're hard-core.over 15 mins im annoyed
actually its more nuanced - if im with a group of friends and we are all chatting etc, not so bothered with a longer wait. if youve been told it will be longer, fair enough. if you know you are getting really good fresh cooked food and depending on what youve ordered - happy to wait. if ive ordered a salad and its just me and hubby and your main business is serving food then get my food!over 15 mins im annoyed

in the meantime i can enjoy a whole range of products/food - im happy eating beatifully prepared and cooked vegetables etc and im happy eating a "bacon" sandwhich now that there is a product which reminds me of bacon (its been 9 years, my memory may be way off)
ive aded some caveats aboveWow. Really? You're hard-core.
He had fish and chips. I sold 25 portions of fish and chips yesterdayactually its more nuanced - if im with a group of friends and we are all chatting etc, not so bothered with a longer wait. if youve been told it will be longer, fair enough. if you know you are getting really good fresh cooked food and depending on what youve ordered - happy to wait. if ive ordered a salad and its just me and hubby and your main business is serving food then get my food!
not that i eat fish and chips now - but if my fish is getting freshly prepared, and lovely chips not out of an oven - im definitely waiting 25 minsHe had fish and chips. I sold 25 portions of fish and chips yesterday
Take him outside to the carpark and rough him up for a while...I had some old boy complaining about slow service last might when he waited 18 minutes. I had a full pub and takeaways on. If he expects food in 10 minutes at the busiest time of week he should go to wetherspoons.
I'd happily wait up to 30 minutes at peak times, if I can see the place is busy.
Those are excellent legs.Did someone say shorts???![]()
That's the bit that always confuses me. I totally get that you don't want to eat animals, and have no argument with that.not at all. i would hope (im some distant future) that having those alternatives makes them the normality, that eating them becomes the acceptable norm. there no use pretending meat eating isnt the default for people. we live in world of meat eaters - thats just the reality - id hope as alternatives become better and more mainstream that more people do it.

I would rent a smallish boat to make sure your fish was freshnot that i eat fish and chips now - but if my fish is getting freshly prepared, and lovely chips not out of an oven - im definitely waiting 25 mins
Thank you for validating Mrnot that i eat fish and chips now - but if my fish is getting freshly prepared, and lovely chips not out of an oven - im definitely waiting 25 mins
you arent at all - but if you dont get it im not sure what else im going to say that will make you get it. before i went vegan pork belly with crackling was always something id pick of a menu - oh my god its so good. however as time went on i moved to only buying organic high welfare meat products, them only local i know where the animal has come from products - until finally i couldnt justify to myself that an animal died to give me that sausage. i didnt suddently stop liking sausages or become disgusted by their presence - i just could not accept something that was a sentient being had to die for me to eat it. So if you can suddenyly say to me - here is something that will give you all the pleasure you had before and its plant based - then woohoo me, i get to have my cake and eat it (vegan cake obviously). That's the bit that always confuses me. I totally get that you don't want to eat animals, and have no argument with that.
I just don't understand why people want a product that reminds them of something they feel so strongly against.
I realise I'm coming across as a cunt here![]()
