Ah the serenity of not seeing the hate filled, racist and homophobic nonsense of bn2f.

Come with me it's so peaceful here.
I take offense to all of that. I have thrown scorn and derision at those who deserve it. That’s about it.

I’ve read that before. I think it means that as a group, people with concealed carry permits have less legal charges and convictions than the rest of the population as a whole. On the other hand, I don’t know how the breakdown goes
Why don't you? The information is out there if you care to look.

How are you “statistically among the most law abiding citizens in the country”?

Because we keep our noses clean and stay out of shit, and we can prove it easily by simple possession of the mis-named "permit." Ne felonies, no stalking-type misdemeanors. As soon as anything like that happened, the court would be hunting me down to take said "permit" back.

I'll play ball on the whole "permit" thing to be able to carry concealed in public without explanation and in places where it's allowed. It is very much like a car in spite of the quite ignorant observation a page or two ago. I don't need a license or inspection or tags or insurance to drive my vehicle on my land. All of that changes when I presume to operate my motor vehicle on the state's road system. I want to use their stuff, I get to play by their rules.

Remember Charlottesville? A bad person can hurt and kill a lot of people in one sitting with a car.

If the stringent requirements for concealed carry are so good at weeding out the bad apples, let's apply them to ALL firearm ownership.

In many respects, they already do - on legal transfers. Each comes with an FBI background check. This has been that way for maybe 30 years, since the Brady Bill was passed. This applies to commercial transfers from a Federal Firearms Licensee (dealer - monitored by the AFT). Private transfers get around that, but those usually occur between people who know each other. Not perfect but (maybe) not too bad. My state is in the process of attempting to make it the law that all transfers have to be "on paper." If they do, then they do.

IIRC, making a false statement on the federal form is a 5 year felony - fed time. I'm not sure how stringently it is enforced. That would be an excellent place to start. Bust those people and let the word get out - pull a fast one and pull some time. There was a felon-with-a-gun program here last century where they got 5 years and got to pull it way away from home, so no family-n-friends visits. I have no issue with that. It seemed to help. I don't know why it went away.

I reckon. I suspect that using the stove is less expensive and safer if somewhat less entertaining.

It doesn't appear to need draining.

Oven or microwave is less drippy than a fry pan, if not as tasty for some unexpected reason.

I don’t know why you would call my opinion ignorant and then not offer up a rebuttal to my points. I stand by what I said that it does not serve you well to compare guns with use of a car especially when you then say this with the very heavy lifting caveat of being on your own damn property. Well duh!
I mean - do you really call it streaking if you’re running naked through your own house?

^^^^^^^^
This is just a different way of saying the same thing I admitted to earlier.

ME: I value my privacy and do not care to share unnecessary information about myself with the government but I also understand that there is a give-and-take for me to enjoy some of these freedoms and privileges.

Look, I’m not bashing you here. Can the gun manufacturers be sued like how consumers sued Ford for the Pinto?
The answer is no. For your own sake at better arguing - you lose telling me a car and gun are similar in any way.

Now, let’s you and I work on background checks and a common sense nationwide waiting period, restrictions on use for those found guilty of domestic abuse, and stopping military grade weapons from civilian use.

I miss Amelia Earhart. Casey Jones still owes me money from that last poker game at the saloon.

Dear Allah, look at teh st000pid. Background checks are national law, covered previously ad nauseum.

The Pinto was judged to be defective. The firearms? Are you fucking kidding me? A self avowed troll wants to be treated like a legit poster. Only thing it's earned is nothing.

As we head toward the end of the month, Wat contemplates the March guns-n-ammo purchase. There's that shotgun calling his name - and it will trigger yet another fucking background check. Then again, he's been working on his Indian cent collection a bit, too. There's the alleged bonus headed this way in the next cheque or two, too. Decisions decisions . . . .

What do you expect from a group of people that have been indoctrinated to believe that the criminal is the 'victim' and the mentally ill should be left to roam the streets? We, as a nation, once had more sense than that.
