We had tornado warnings in San Diego almost two weeks ago, I don’t remember it happening before but I guess it wasn’t the first time. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I grew up in NorCal and there sure wasn’t any tornado warnings in the 70’s.
Yeah. A few years ago a tunnel cloud went right over my house in one of the Sacramento suburbs. Naturally I went to look as it passed over. I could see the rotation in the clouds. It was very cool. Sometimes I'm glad my makeup does not include an instinct for self preservation.

I didn't eat dinner and don't want to cook..... ugh.... better go look maybe I have a healthy choice frozen dinner.... it will do

a whole ton of channels
The hotel I used to stay at in Dubai carried an Indian channel named “The Cricket Channel”. Having no idea how it’s played I figured it’s a game, and the rules to any ball game has to be simple.

Wrong, wrong, wrong.

After a total of several hours watching over multiple trips I’ve still never figured it out. The score is 0/0 then there is a small commotion and it’s somehow 136/11. No idea why.

All I know is that cricket games have lasted longer than some wars. I won't watch it. I have the attention span of a goldfish for some things.

We had a confirmed f1 here in my little village. It caused some property damage luckily noone hurt because they determined that it was not a touch downbeat rather about 20 feet in the air. Lots of trees and roofs ripped off.... it was SCARY....
Unfortunately, tornados are scary especially when you can see it or hear it. I am glad you are OK except for nerves. When the sky turns grean, its time to take shelter.

Sometimes the easy choice is the frozen dinner. Some are pretty good.

Its morning now, and hope you have a good day.

Good morning early risers and insomniacs and international followers.

News this monring: A 76 year old retired electrician who could not afford the gas bills (turned off), blew up his house and self from heating a faulty propane heater. Fortunately he survived with minor injuries but sad that this happened.

Weather - a warming trend into the 50s!!

And today, as if we need a day, is Love Your Pet Day.

When I lived in Europe, we’d get the battery of BBC 1,2’s and 3’s and the SkySports 1, 2’s and 3’s….actually Sky4 was the sports Chanel? Doesn’t matter….

I tried the same…Cricket can’t be the a hard to decipher…as you stated WRONG!

I did figure out there are “friendly” matches (lasting a weekend or maybe a day?) and there are something called “test” matches? Those are the one that last for two weeks or six months or something….🤣

Here are the rules
The Rules of Cricket

You have two sides, one out in the field and one in.

Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out.

When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side thats been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out.

Sometimes you get men still in and not out.

When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in.

There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out.

When both sides have been in and all the men have got out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game!

Has anyone ever had a job that was just plain fun and you might have done it for free?

I won’t go first because I had the best one 😉
I did! Teaching Nursing at university. I LOVED that job! I was part time, on a year to year contract and taught Senior Baccalaureate students. By that time, they're usually really invested in their education and can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I didn’t have to be involved in, or care about, the faculty politics and felt free to be friendly with everyone. I once told my Dean the job was so fun for me, I'd just about do it for free. She told me not to let anyone else hear me say that. Nursing faculty were generally paid less than faculty from other schools, like the School of Business. I was paid a pittance but I didn't care.

I quote myself, what a ego. 😁

I was a seasonal Ocean Lifeguard that required year round training but I was paid for it. I went through paramedic training, USCG Small Boat Handler class, rappelling and stretcher rigging for air evacuations.

Day-to-day was uneventful but exhausting; however, training made everything worth it.
Cool job!

So yesterday, I got to learn that at my age, it’s rare to have strep throat, PLUS strep is apparently behaving differently this winter!

I’d been having sinus issues for a week and a half to two weeks, which I attributed to my usual February seasonal allergies that make no sense… and then during this week coughing started, the sore throat started on Thursday. So Saturday morning I wake up feeling like crap and decide to get to urgent care and see what’s going on, and I was lucky that the nurse checking me in offered to do the strep test right away, because we had the results by the time a PA saw me, so they had had to send a prescription to be picked up, and I’m feeling better, just have to take these pills twice a day for 10 days!
Be sure you take all of your prescription. I hope you're feeling better soon! 🫂
