Do you generally like your job? Can you look for another? What would happen if you didn't do it?

🫂🫂💞
I like the idea of my job but the expectations are overwhelming. When I go to my manager with solutions it is "we are aware u do all the work" yet they don't hold anyone else accountable.i am not a lead, but they treat me like one and I am. Christ I take vacations so my peers have to be responsible for something...one thing about nurses is 3 people do the work 30 copy and they all take credit .... it is the same with us... my disdain for the bs is showing and it is not a good thing. I could go back to inpt cdi but It feels like a demotion. Already paid for it no refunds so sol...... 2000 dollars down the drain if I dont complete. I am still considering my options. I can't work the next 15 yrs like this I will get fired.

Why did you pay for it if it's a requirement for your job? They should have paid for it! 🤬🤬

The best advice I can give you is act your wage. If you're not a lead and not paid to be one, don't assume those duties. I assume you're salary? Work your hours and no more. Your job is a contract between you and your employer. You give them your time and talent in exchange for money. Don't fall for the "We're a family here." I used to shudder when I heard that. Families are all dysfunctional.

Yeah.... I am trying to... and I let the others do there own work, but they play the "lets all play together and share crayons" style so 1 person is the gatekeeper and we all know who it is..... and with my work ethic and not wanting my name on a bunch of shit work I get stuck ...."you are so valuable to the team korry" .....makes me sick... they just gave us a ginormous raise so I am stuck until.i find something I like that pays similar..... ugh. Why can't I win the lottery or find a sugar daddy....ugh

P.s. they "reimburse" ......it is annoying

The people who do the work only get more work. All the responsibilities with none of the pay or perks. 🙄😤

After reading the posts last night, I will not complain. I have my health albeit still with sinus and sleep issues. I am retired. I don’t miss the work politics and BS but do miss many of the friends I made there.

Wishing all who are struggling the best and my support. 🫂🫂

Your frustration is understandable but there does seem to be a glass half full aspect to this. In any successful organization, there is someone who sees what needs do get done, is able to prioritize, and who accepts accountability. In other words, a leader. That’s you. It’s in your DNA.

You didn’t ask for it, and may not want the pressure that comes with it, but you’re the defacto team leader. Maybe one way to cope in the short term at least is to embrace it for a fixed period of time. Maybe a year or two. Update your resume and LinkedIn profile to reflect your actual responsibilities, including those you take on that are beyond your job description. Think of the training as something that will increase your value in the job market. And take part of that ginormous raise to reward yourself! Do something special for yourself that you otherwise wouldn’t be able to without that raise. You earned it. You have every right to be proud of yoursel.
This is great advice! 👍

I have a polypropylene Helly-Hansen zip-up turtleneck base layer I bought at least 35 years ago and still wear a couple of times a year under my cycling jersey.

This is polypropylene from the days when if you put it in the dryer it became doll clothing. I think I kept it the first 10 years because it was so freaking expensive at the time, after that I started wearing it “one-more-time” and now we’re just old friends.

Anyone else have something you just can’t seem to part with?

I am not sure i have anything specific, but I have a few softy blankets that I won't share.....hahaha

Anybody else here find themselves suddenly thinking, “There’s no way I’m really ___ years old, that’s a mistake, I can’t be any older than ___,” and then later on suddenly feel their age and think, “No way should that be happening, I’m only _____ years old?” Maybe it’s just me.

My tank top I use for the gym. It is so ratty and full of holes but I still wear it. I know it is destined for the rag bag soon but I can't seem to stop wearing it. 🙄
