The democrats were once the party of young progressive thinkers, the party of JFK, RFK, and Bill Clinton. Today there is AOC, Maxwell Frost, and while not as young still progressives are Jasmine Crockett, Katie Porter, Jared Moskowitz, and Jamie Raskin.

On that list Jasmine Crockett I think is the one to watch.. Who do you think maybe the next JFK and Bill Clinton?

What I like about Crockett is she can work with republicans and her fellow democrats she does whatever it takes to get the job done for her constituents.. But she’s her own person she was a lawyer and as such is a skilled speaker.. I have a fondness for politicians that speak in complete sentences. I like politicians who can reach across the aisle who are interested in helping their fellow Americans and are not in it solely for themselves.

Who do you think maybe the next JFK and Bill Clinton?

Honestly?
Hopefully no one like either of those two. I’m not demeaning them or their accomplishments, but I want free thinkers in the present that better represent America’s diversity.

So, yeah, way more Crocketts and Danica Roem’s.

All the Dems I liked are now former Dems.

The lack of youth in leadership may be attributed to the failure of education to foster competence for the past few decades.

Both were very promiscuous. I don't know anyone in the current crop who is known for sex appeal. There was Kyrsten Sinema, but she's indie now.

The D bench is pretty empty right now. Newsom is trying but his star is already fading. Michelle Lujan Grisham, the Gov of NM, is also trying to position herself as a mover and shaker but she doesn't have the chops or the moxy.

That doesn't mean someone can't appear out of the weeds. There are probably many who could be contenders if only the party's decrepit would get out of the way.

To be honest before you mentioned Danica Roem I never heard of her/him and Roem is in a unique position to represent a group that is not represented.. The main reason I posted this tread was to become aware of representatives I didn’t know anything about.

Roem’s profession prior to becoming impresses me. It gives Danica experience to be able to dig up facts and relate them to people in a simple to understand manner..

Maybe that will put to rest all this conspiracy theory nonsense watch seems to be the bread and butter of the present republican party. Hopefully Roem will will do a good job in the State legislature and rise to represent Virginia at the federal level..

There are probably young leaders out there but it takes time for people to be recognized. I think its more a matter of time than competence.. Like any job it takes time to learn the ropes and even more time to be put in a position to be able to do something you'll be recognized for. Not only does someone have to have the ability but a bit of luck as well. Example: if FDR hadn't died before the end of WWII no one would remember Harry Truman. Which to that generation was considered one of the better presidents and woefully underrated. TIE.

While I don't disagree with you on Newsom or Grisham, what I'm looking for is suggestions about those hiding in the weeds. Those who maybe movers and shakers a decade from now.. Impossible to predict for sure but fun to think about..

Granted. But what I'm looking for is those who are still under the radar but have potential. Someone who maybe a mover and shaker a decade from now.

He has mastered the use of social media, comes across as sensible and likeable. As a former state senator and one-time member of the house, he doesn't have the national name brand to be a part of the conversation. Getting gerrymandered out of his congressional seat isn't going to help. He has the potential though. If he wins his race for state attorney general and can leverage that to a governorship or US senator seat he could be a presence next decade.

Communism won't fly in today's USA. So progressives are out.

I think the next wave of truly progressive and effective Democrats will be women (Trumptards, cover your children's eyes). I love watching Crockett's demolition of the Republicans in hearings, but I think she might be a bit too aggressive and combative for the general public. I think AOC and Katie Porter, along with Stacey Abrams, will ride the wave of increasing liberalism in this country. And I predict that Abrams will be the first female president in America.

There are two communists in all of present day American politics, nether have been mentioned so far there are Rossana Cambron and Joe Sims and nether are members congress nor have any chance of becoming members of congress or any other high US political office.. There not even in the picture.

Progressives have always been popular arguably the most progressive American politician in history was Abraham Lincoln and he is the 2nd most popular president in history on most lists that track such things... Lincoln, was an avid writer, and he had a penpal in the UK who would often chastise Abe for being too progressive. Lincoln's proposed policy of giving freed slave 40 acres and a mule really didn't set well with penpal, that penpal was Karl Marx..
.
Other progressives are Teddy Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan. All are very popular. Reagan, with his share the wealth program (EICA), guaranteed medical care regardless of one's ability to pay (EMTALT), banning of guns (FOPA).. All very popular with republicans and all very progressive policies.

You know he just calls all Democrats "communists". Best to just ignore those comments, as nothing constructive is ever going to come of them.

Trump is forcing the coalitions of both parties to realign. He pushed many Pubs out to pull in more swing voters. A Trump reelection would force more realignment. What happens with an RFK win is anybody's guess. The new leaders of the new coalitions may not yet be on the board.

"Realignment" means something fairly specific in political science, and it's not what you describe here. A realignment is when one or more large groups who lean to one party switch their allegiances en masse. If rural whites switched to the Democrats or Blacks and educated women flipped to the Republicans, that would be a realignment. Trump hasn't caused and isn't going to cause anything like that.

No one heard of Clinton and Carter before they won. So if you can mention a name now, bet that the person will not be on the list. Its always someone not foreseen.

And he goes total snowflake if it's pointed out a person who exalts nation and often race above the individual and stands for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader makes a person a fascist.

You're more or less right about Carter, but Clinton was considered a rising star for about a decade before he ran.

Keep voting democrat to ensure the end of America as we know it.

Yeah because the affirmative acrtion and DEI movements have done so much to empower people by handing them jobs because of their color and nothing else.

Sometime I vote democrat sometimes republican. I vote for whomever I think will do the best job for that particular cycle and they never fail to disappoint..
