I used to make everyone sit down because I had enough to do on top of a report on why 3 people passed out and hit the floor....hahaha
IKR??? If I hadn't been starting the IV, I could have taken care of gramps. I was working all units at the time, adults and NICU.

Grampa ended up in the Neuro ICU with a SDH!

Do moose poop in the yard? I bet you have to mow around that. hahaha
I hire the mowing out. I have serious hay fever and can't handle not breathing for a couple days after mowing.

Yes, they poop in the yard, in the woods, on the road. Whenever and wherever...

Breathing is a good thing, Thor! 😅😅

Our lawn service just mows over any poop...

Been hating on him since Andy Reed became his coach. When everyone started liking him so much I seem to hate him and the KC even more. I root against more teams in NFL than I pull for. Tired of him. And kelce too
I'm an unapologetic Swiftie! So I have to like Kelce, too! TNT! 😅😆😅

I haven't seen a bear here. We're semi-rural so there's lots of wildlife. I love watching the eagles and osprey over the lake.
There was a hawk when I moved in. Would land in the woods behind the house and call or hover above. The next year there were two hawks. Kind of cute almost. The 3 - 6th year there were 3 hawks. After that just one regular at those specific times of year. I feel sure it was a family. Sometimes when it is cold, like with snow a different hawk stops by. That one puffs his feathers so large he could rival the size of an owl. I do miss hearing the owls late at night.

When covid happened and the planes stopped landing every few minutes the Eagles from a national park near by would extend their flight range such that we would get a fly over.

I think one of the most entertaining eagle osprey events I witnessed was competition over a shallow cove in a lake I visited in Canada. They did not like each other too much, revealing how well they can fly. Very cool. Wouldn't know it if I did not see it first hand.

I hear a owl hooting at night. It's spooky and comforting at the same time. The osprey are amazing. And a bit scary. You haven't lived till you've been buzzed by one while out in the kayak! 😱

I had an owl here last night. Also get coyotes, deer, bats, bear al kinds of stuff. Haven't been buzzed by an owl yet. I'll add it to my bucket list

He did fine. The nurses would bring him up to the NICU when he was doing better.
Thank goodness..... I thought I wanted to be some sort of person nurse when I was in school.... I was wrong... every kid I took care of had something horrible wrong with them or was abused. I had to go to the eye clinic with a sweet little baby that was being checked for hemorrhages with the parents suspected of abuse with the instructions to not let them pick up.or hold the baby and if they tried to......hit the code button l...it was awful.

What did you do to get buzzed by an osprey? Haven't had that happen yet. Even getting close to the buoy their nest is propped up on top of.
Owls are cool. Ever see one in day light? The water company finished cutting a line through forest where we can hike. One would let us get just so close then fly ahead in the clearing. So massive it is hard to understand how they fly between the tree limbs. I wonder if I could ever see that good?
The owl in my backyard here stopped visiting when new neighbors showed up and put lights on like a jailhouse yard.
When I used to be able to [have time to] pick a direction and walk in Valley Forge their was wildlife that seemed tame. I was afraid of deer and geese. Deer because they where bigger than I was. Geese because they would chase you and you could not defend yourself. The coyote may have been removed somehow. Never saw one there. Cats I am sure were watching me all the time but they do not let you see them.
Manassas battle field is full of coyote. I am surprised there is not more interaction. Like grabbing a dog not on a leash or something. I see them a lot but they always keep their distance. I always hope that I didn't mess up a meal. Occasionally the association here notifies a coyote is spotted. They do like critters that live in doors. The must not know to run.

That is awful! I worked for a short time in Peds ICU. I hated it, partly for those reasons, but also because the Peds Intensivist was an asshole. He didn't like my mouthy ways! 🤣🤣🤣

I was just paddling around. There are a number of osprey nests on top of snags in the lake. It freaked me out! I think it was probably fishing and I was in its way.

I haven't seen an owl in daylight but I did see one hunting at night while I was driving home. It was flying along the median. It was HUGE!

I regularly see notices on Nextdoor about coyotes in the area. I have a little dog; she is ALWAYS on a leash outside. Mostly because she doesn't mind well but also because I want to keep her safe.

There are lots of other critters here. Raccoons, opossums, ducks, geese. I love it!

I am mouthy too.... I had the same problem with docs and reside to who treated my patie to badly. Little old people who would sign surgical consents blindly and not even know what procedure they were having "because the doc said it was ok" surgeons hated me....... they found out that they better make sure the pt understood or I wouldn't let them sign consent.... or residents that were dismissive or lazy...nope

Oh, girl! You sound like me! 🤣🤣🤣 I also had surgeons get mad at me for calling them to explain a procedure or surgery to a patient before witnessing a consent!

I was hauled into my manager's office one time because of it. The surgeon was in there frothing at the mouth. I just calmly asked my manager to help me understand the CA Nursing Act, explaining I was not a surgeon, and suggested she call the BON for clarification.

She hated me because I was such a smart ass. By this time, I was teaching at a university and only worked part time. IDGAF and she knew it. 😆🤭😆

my kid just started a surgical career after finishing residency last year - I always told her to treat the nurses like the saints they are and I think she paid attention.
Hopefully. Surgery is a cut throat environment and lots of stress because they literally have the patients lives in their hands..... it takes as much time to be nice as an asshole. And sometimes surgeons forget that floor nurses spend 12 hr multiple days with a patient t. We see small changes and it is our job to report..... I have had surgeons tell me to "do my job" reporting an abnormal finding or a seemingly minute change and the pt has had a bad outcome because the doc didn't want to listen and in turn was an asshole about it.... it is all sooo unnecessary. It just makes everyone miserable. I personally would rather peel my face off than call a doc. So when I call you better listen. I did have a reputation that I was no nonsense and you better listen or I would take it up the foodchain.

I hate to say it my dear...BUT...coyotes don't CARE if your little dog is on a leash if they are hungry enough!. I've seen that happen in WV already. Owls can be downright MEAN too! Just sayin....

I think or maybe read that the largest threat to raptors is traffic. More unnatural death to birds of prey catching a mouse, rat or other scavenger looking for food in something someone threw out of their car window.

The first owl in nature I saw was one night late in SC I was on 378 I think. A low spot where it travels through a swap. No light for miles. The owl that I saw missed my windshield by inches, was all white and wider than my than my car. An '85 Chevrolet Monte Carlo. Loved that car...

Once upon a time the love of my life was an OR nurse in a fairly large hospital. Her team was respected and experienced. I think the docs there that I met were pretty cool. I also believe that the nursing staff does most of the work. The doctor had to be there and was responsible. But on many cases the nurses did worked the magic.
