Well right after I wrote this went and put in last load of laundry prepped 2 tenderloins and a big pack of chicken thighs for the freezer and got all the garbage together to take out in the am..... so not a total loss..... oh and I made my dinner
I had big plans for my 4 day weekend and I have done none of it
I think we all are pretty good at that! Right there WITH ya MissK!

I don't know much about that function because I haven't used it. Or really read about how to use it. The oven does have a thermometer. I used it when I made a prime rib for Christmas. It was perfect!

I've had the oven as high as 550° for making pizza. I use my cast iron pan and prebake the crust then put the toppings on to finish baking.
Check out King Arthur Baking, the have a great pizza recipe made in a cast iron pan among others

I get it. Was a 50 year fan of the Oakland Raiders before they abandoned their fans, moved to Vegas and ceased to exist. The big games were always emotionally exhausting. These days I’m a man without a team. It’s very liberating. I jump on and off bandwagons without hesitation. I’ve rooted for Belichik, Brady, and the Cowboys just to annoy certain people. 😂

Still remember the AFC Championship game when Oak hosted the Ravens at the Coliseum. When Tony Siragusa put the brain rattling hit on Rich Gannon that ended his career. Knew right then and there the game was over. Was a long, miserable drive home listening to the post game radio broadcast after that game. Ravens went on to win the SB.

Today’s picks:,Baltimore over KC, Detroit over Santa Clara
I grew up 30 miles from San Fran and followed the 49er's and the Raiders (till they became the TRAITORS). Now that i live in Maryland i follow the Ravens and hate that they were not in it to win it.

Since we’re talking food…is anyone familiar with Like Water For Chocolate? If not, it’s a great book, Laura Esquivel was the author and it was published in Mexico in ‘89…the English version in ‘92 and I think the film was ‘92 also. If you’re a cook, and want a good novel or movie to pass the time this is it!

My wife is Mex/American so this is near and dear as we watch it once a year, usually around the holidays.

See! You did something! Not a total loss... 😅😅

The closest I've got to that was watching an adult feeding a juvenile green woodpecker in the garden right under my window.
I rented this little Cape Cod in the south Jersey philly burbs. Out of the northeast dormer was an old hulk of a tree. Huge like 10 feet around. It was probably there when George Washington was. Even with looking out that window was a hollowed out space where a limb used to be. One year there was a racoon family in there. The last year I was there I was treated with a Pileated Woodpecker with 3 babies in the knot hole. It was long enough ago that my 2 MP digital camera of the time could not manually focus through the dirty window and screen. Cleaning it would have disturber her. I wanted to see them fly. I never saw the babies out of the nest and one day they were gone.

Does the mama woodpecker take over your yard for a month or 6 weeks? Making it dangerous to walk to the greenhouse?
On mine the driveway came up between the side of the house and the tree. I did not cut the grass on that side or up the strip in the middle of the drive. I even used the front door or walked down the other side of the house to get the mail. She was a big bird. Never touched me but I got some unexpected swoops when she thought I was too close. I loved the wild life that was in such a heavily populated area.

Wood peckers can be downright destructive. But the moose eat every ornamental or crop plant in the yard.

0 for 2, fortunately. I actually expected the Ravens to finally beat my Chiefs, that was a hell of a game. And I was really pulling for the Lions. Thought they had that one wrapped up at halftime. Not sure how many people wanted to see another Chiefs-49ers Super Bowl. And I expect everyone outside of Kansas City will be rooting for the Niners.

I wanted to see Ravens win over the Lions. That would have been a great game. More exciting runs.
I'll watch the SB. But really feel a bit of disinterest as I could give a shit when they praise mahomie purdy and want to puke with macafrey and kelcie. I cringe when I feel myself hoping they broke a leg or something. That's not why i watch football.
This is one game where both quarterbacks could be on the field at the same time to make it more entertaining. Who cares who wins?

The millions of guys around the world who have money on the game.

I had an older cousin who was a Raiderette back when being a Raiderette was a big thing. I was so jealous!

She got us free tickets from time to time and all I remember is watching her and the other cheerleaders, I don’t remember a thing about the games. 🤷‍♀️ 🤣
