Yep, firearms have triggers. Who knew?????

Ah yes, the M14E1. I shot one with and without a muzzle brake. Without the brake the bipod and shoulder brace are a must. With the brake it was a pussy cat. Even more manageable than the old BAR without the weight penalty.

Never even seen one live and up close. Bucket list? I don't know. I may try to score a stock later this year. Maybe. I still need to finish those 2 I got last fall.

If you ever get this far West I'll see what I can arrange. The dude is a class 3 dealer and has stuff like, M3's, G36's, MP9's, M4's, M16's, and various other varied and sundry toys.

I have 43 of 48 of the lower 48 visited. You're in one of the remaining 5. A swing that way is in the general planning stages. Maybe I'll have some 7.62 match brass to bring along since I seem to have given up continental flying until further notice. ;)

4,000 comments and counting. This thread rocks. Thanks Wat for bringing positivity and constructive dialogue to this forum. 🙏

Thank you for your kind comments. It's one Hell of a sacrifice, but I do what I can.

:ROFLMAO: :nana:

Just give me a 'heads up' so I can talk to Walter. We'll go out to my range and have some fun.

PS, we don't shoot National Match ammo full auto, jes saying.

No, that's what NATO surplus would be for.

The NM ammo goes in the M1As, and they like it muchly. One lives in a M14 birch stock that I refinished and it's one of the SA loaded package rifles. Very nice shooter.

Ahh the good old days.

I have long believed that the main reason civility and real dialogue no longer exist in our politics is because faithless judges and politicians have put everything on the table.

In the past, we all had a pretty clear idea of what government could do and what it couldn’t. The rights and freedoms of the individual were well known, accepted, and expected.

Today’s population has a taste for being told what to do and a willingness to “win” at all costs that was not as common - and political parties have taken advantage of it.

It was once possible to disagree vehemently with someone on issues - and still like them and enjoy their company. That’s because you had no fear that their worst ideas would ever be enacted. There were limits to what the government could or would do.

Today, there can be no pleasantness because the guardrails are gone. Everything is up for grabs in every election.

But, as has been said, that which cannot continue, will not continue. So this too shall pass. What replaces it? Probably something a lot worse before it gets better.

It all trickles down (like that?) to the Lowest Common Denominator, and that which is intolerable becomes tolerated, or worse, expected. Humanity, to me, has decidedly become an area where the idea of blessed is he who expects nothing for he shall not be disappointed. I'm not shocked by the barrage of crap, especially online. It is the decline of decency.

And I'm not sure the replacement will be better under the current system. I couldn't name the last political hack I voted for. Everything is a choice between bad and worse. After awhile, who the fuck wants to play anymore?

I hear ya, boys. And especially these days, when one of the two major political parties in the USA promotes violence as a way to overturn the results of an election and install their candidate as an autocrat.

We ain't gonna tolerate that crap.

Democrats aren't going to win. You want to believe but public sentiment says otherwise.
Do you want to stake your current Lit user name on that wager?

Polls don't mean shit during this GOP primary season.

What a joke! Wat thinks we're terrified of him being out on election day with a sharp knife and a few of his refurbished gunz.

I don't gamble.

No one knows what's going to happen but you're shooting your mouth off anyway because if you don't bluster you'll shit yourself. I, on the other hand, keep abreast of the news and the polls and can follow where public sentiment is leading.

The current political drift in the US is that this November isn't going produce good news for Dems. Not only does the public sentiment bode ill for D's, the electoral map is going to be hard to overcome.

So, if I were a gambling man, I'd go with the odds. Since I'm not, I'll just say what everyone understands is going to happen; the J6'ers will be pardoned after this November.

What a wimp! But of course, what would be left in your life if you lost your porn board personna?
