Compared to the other two, he is very responsible. I shoot some old weapons, and I am very aware that at anytime something could break. It can be done but the question is what will it pick up? Barrels are a LOT more robust than some folks think, unless it's totally blocked the most likely point of failure is going to be the bolt.They can magnaflux engine blocks. I wonder about barrels. It looks to be easy enough to do.

As I mentioned before, Naval Jelly is a semi-parkerizing process, meaning that it seals the steel including any micro fractures. Firing the rifle will, of course, start to remove the coating from the surfaces that the bullet contacts but not the micro fractures, they will remain sealed for quite some time.Which was my thought based on general observation and what led to the original question. So If I happen to ruin something along the way, I do have a couple of sacrificial lambs.
