Do you even have a clue as to what you're watching?
Seems to be destructive testing. IE how long under continuous fire before it breaks (how many rounds count). Pretty irresponsible and dangerous if you ask me. Your the exact type who does this too, Right?. Why? Because you can...right?

Stupid people with guns getting smacked in the face because they're stupid. Likely a precursor to an ER visit.

Not to mention a waste of ammo

I have a couple of old military rifles with dark bores. I've had good luck using a rust remover product to clean up a mess of old tools which I've had for years. The thought is, maybe if I plug the muzzle and set the rifles on the plug and fill the barrels with this stuff and let it sit for 48 hours or so, the bores might brighten up a bit. Then again, it might not work, but it might be worth an experiment.

It's an old video of 'test to destruction' of a few off the shelf uppers. That's why you see so much ammo on the table.

Before you do that see if you can find some naval jelly and swab the bores with that.

Toss-up between this rifle and the M14 for shortest service life. Of course, the 14 got a reprieve as a few are still out there doing something.

What a self chob.
How does it feel right now knowing you're nothing more than a 3rd rate chobham?
Pretty chobby, huh?

Another product I have never used. There's a thought.
Citric acid will work too and is thought to be a little gentler. Which ever way you go rinse with hot water, dry immediately and coat with oil. Also be aware that using Naval Jelly will not give you a bright bore. It semi-parkerizes the steel while removing the rust.

I'm thinking that a bright bore is probably out of the question.

Good news with my old military stuff is, I have enough examples to experiment and see which one works better/best.

Anyone can see what's happening in this video. A baby-faced idiot is whooping like a Confederate hayseed while overtaxing the physical limits of his firearm.

It's yet another example of a Deplorable taking pride in stupidity.

He bullied that poor firearm. It's so sad. So fucking sad . . . .
In the end, the firearm bullied him.

Let the Stupidity Pride Parade proceed. Come out of the closets like Wat and his ammosexual harem, and proclaim your support for Stupidity Pride.

And line up the ambulances.

The problem is that the rust pitting, if bad enough, has weakened the steel in ways which cannot be seen. Nor will the surface be smooth after the oxides are removed.

Dark bores are time bombs waiting to go off.

Well, that man's testing literally blew up in his face and very likely injured himself to some extent.

As a fellow firearm enthusiast, do you have any sympathy for him getting injured in his means testing, or do you have disdain/scorn because he didn't wear any protection when he clearly should've?

Not trying to do a gotcha here, just asking because there seems to be a rather flimsy fraternity amongst contemporary firearm owners that bases itself in being showoffs rather than appreciation of skills in handling.

or to say this in another way, I wouldn't want to have brothers at my side who would let me be stupid with guns while being filmed for the laughs and who would instead check me by saying, "dude, put on some protection before you do that."

The guy was okay. There are other lengthier versions of that clip. Don't let a lack of facts interrupt the narrative.

So noted. These don't get shot much. Like, hardly ever.

If you say so, sure.

But is it biz as usual to only wear a t-shirt and some winter gloves to intentionally operate a firearm like that until it blows up to find the breaking point?

They just can't say the easiest thing possible to say on this subject matter. The thing that you're dangling right before them to say.

I wouldn't shoot them at all unless rebarreled. But that's just me, others have and had no issues other than a general lack of accuracy and consistency of shot placement.

I get that, too. None of these need to be used, but it would be nice if they could be counted on.

It is easy to say that someone who is responsible would wear more appropriate gear to prepare for fiery gun pieces travelling at high speeds at their face while attempting to demonstrate failure.

I'd mention something about wasting ammo to accomplish stupid things, but it's obvious that the bar is way too low for that.
