I found Ashley Madison to be a scam. Buy some credits, get no responses and just as credits run out, all of sudden get some responses (Bots). Buy more credits to answer back but no responses and rinse and repeat. Craigslist use to be great, even just for someone to chat with. The missed connections are still available but they 99% guys looking for guys. I have not found anything comparable to craigslist personals where you got real responses.

It's very tough these days to find a site that is not flooded with fake profiles. 20 years ago adultfriendfinder was great; I tried it a year ago for a month and got nothing but out of state fake profiles. I've been on ashleymadison twice and each time found a FWB (and they refund your credits if you encounter a fake profile). Doublelist is, at least in my area, mostly fakes and hookers. If you go to Google and search websites without fake profiles )or something like that), you get crap, fake high reviews to lure you in from what I've seen. Flirt.com seems to combat fakes as well but I never had any luck there. Wish I could be of more help but the flood of fakes seems to have killed a lot of one-time good websites. I expect AI generated fakes will soon be here, if they're not already.

I have checked out Missed Connections a few times after the personals were closed but it was mostly guys looking for guys. Definitely not the same vibe.

The "guys looking for guys" seems to permeate many sites. I use Reddit for regular topic discussions but will occasionally checkout the various "gone wild" or other related Subs and the majority is either M4M or women who are trying to get OnlyFans subscribers.
