DoubleList is a stand-in these days for what Craigslist used to provide.

I miss the Craigslist Personals. Hookup sites like AFF or Ashley Madison just don't have the same feel as an open Personals section of a mainstream site.

BTW, I have heard that people used the Missed Connections section of Craigslist as a workaround to replace the Personals.

Agree.....Craigslist was surprisingly productive. Certainly miss it.

I found Ashley Madison to be a scam. Buy some credits, get no responses and just as credits run out, all of sudden get some responses (Bots). Buy more credits to answer back but no responses and rinse and repeat. Craigslist use to be great, even just for someone to chat with. The missed connections are still available but they 99% guys looking for guys. I have not found anything comparable to craigslist personals where you got real responses.
