Variations on a theme

I far prefer black & white to color. Far less distraction, more focus on the subject. I've shared both if these, here's a split. What are your thoughts? B&W or Red?

I think black and white can lift a pic up. It sharpens whites and deepens darks.

But in this case, I think the red just jumps out and sets the pic on fire
