I, ME, Bn2F, has heretofore declared and decided that I, Me, Bn2F, is now the OP and NEW de facto head of this particular thread.

SO IT IS WRITTEN AND SO IT SHALL BE!

You fellow brethren deserve a new leader who is not a punk ass bitch! One who does not have a restraining order on them from their former place of work, does not hook up with other members behind trash dumps, and can cook their own delicious dessert items rather than being fed like a feral cat from the hand of their landlady! One who is pretty as all get out, sexy, and very capable of defending their positions on this thread! Hold up! That last Declaration of Magnificence bears repeating! A new leader who is sexy as fuck and is more than capable of speaking up for themselves and, more importantly, coming to the defense of the good brethren here on this thread - the true sign of a leader with heavy, dragging balls between her legs. Damn, I like what I just said so much, that I am gonna name that A2 - `Amendment 2. Damn, it's so good, I may just start and stop right damn there!

My first official act as unquestioned leader is to now invite any and all good members to share their non sequitur posts!
You wanna talk Corvettes? RoryN? Have at it! Tell us more, please!
Here's an interesting, and now fully allowed and encouraged, sidebar - I once had to go to the bathroom in Bowling Green, Kentucky and ended up actually circling around the Corvette Museum there. It was on a Sunday so no one was there, but it seemed a fascinating place and I hope to go back and actually visit someday. Also, fun fact, on every corner in Bowling Green is a stand where you can pay a dollar to throw rotten tomatoes at a placard of Kellyanne Conway with all the money going to help the relief of the victims of the Bowling Green Massacre.
You wanna come here and exchange pleasantries - Hey, coati!
You wanna share gardening tips or recipes? This is now the place for you!
A new era has started!
It's OUT with the old and IN with the fierce and freakin, flamin 🎶FAB-YOU-LOUS!🎶
More delusional nonsense.

Hey, how 'bout those "football" teams and their bowl games? And what about this weather?

And speaking of Corvettes, have you ever noticed that you rarely see them loaded with sheetrock at the Home Depot?

But to stay on topic, how 'bout those Lit incels constantly obsessing about their ammo and hatred of the gummint and all this societal change? Sensitive snowflakes, amirite?

I'm really hoping the Yankees get it together and beat the Canucks in the Super Bowl!

The wait is never as long as it could be . . . .

Meanwhile

By: Jack Gilbert

It waits. While I am walking through the pine trees
along the river, it is waiting. It has waited a long time.
In southern France, in Belgium, and even Alabama.
Now it waits in New England while I say grace over
almost everything: for a possum dead on someone’s lawn,
the sing light on a levee while Northampton sleeps,
and because the lanes between houses in Greek hamlets
are exactly the width of a donkey loaded on each side
with barley. Loneliness is the mother’s milk of America.
The heart is a foreign country whose language none
of us is good at. Winter lingers on in the woods,
but already it looks discarded as the birds return
and sing carelessly; as though there never was the power
or size of December. For nine years in me it has waited.
My life is pleasant, as usual. My body is a blessing
and my spirit clear. But the waiting does not let up.

Insh'Allah, don't you know . . . .

Anyone who’s into collecting older firearms might find this interesting. Found these old boxes of ammo cleaning up and organizing my things.

These were from my dad.
1 box of 30-06 Sears (like as in Sears and Roebuck) ammunition that my dad remarked .303 British.
1 box of Winchester .303 British
1 box of Norma (made in Sweden) 7.62x54R, which they mistakenly called Russian, but I believe the R is for rimmed. Norma is very high quality ammunition.

Anyway… enjoy some old school ammo nostalgia. Use the arrow on the right to see second pic which is of the side boxes.

The Norma is 180 grain boat tailed soft point, so good hunting ammunition.

All of the other 7.62x54r I have is 148 g so this is a larger round.

I have two mosins, an M44 carbine and a 1942 Tula.

I have 2 WW1-era Mosins and a post-war carbine. I had a M39 but I gave it to my godson.

He actually has the respect to call me godfather . . . .

A tear came to my eye.
For a brief fleeting moment, I almost recognized your humanity and felt a kinship to you. But then I realize that most people don’t get to pick who their godfathers are.

You are right the 7.62R does stand for rimmed. But the 7.62x54R was called Russian because it was the service rifle and machine gun round for the Russian Army used in the Moison Nagant, the SVT-40, and their light and medium machine guns. It was later used in the Dragunov SVD Sniper rifle.
