Ehhhhh helloooooooBrussel Sprouts are perfect in an air fryer with olive oil and kosher salt. They don’t need anything else.
My Brussels: EVOO, salt , pepper. Cook under high heat in oven or air fryer until just tender inside and slight char on the out leaves. I hated Brussels sprouts growing up in the 70s when my mom cooked them to mush, but eat them at least once or twice a week now. I won’t try to convert any haters. More for me.I've heard that line 50 different ways and I've tried them every time. Still, no matter how delicious the seasonings and accompaniments, the demon weed always shines thru and ruins it. If it's so good, why do you have to mask it's flavor and take what's represented as a healthy vegetable and give it as many calories as a dessert?
Bacon is great, but bacon is great on a donut as well.Ehhhhh hellooooooo
Bacon!!! They need bacon and balsamic!
Don’t argue, thank you, please

Perhaps. But I haven’t seen any articles to suggest that broccoli, cauliflower, green beans, asparagus, or just about any other vegetable that I enjoy now but disdained growing up (when it was ALWAYS cooked to mush) were all also genetically improved. I give a great deal of credit to the improved method of cooking. As someone else mentioned earlier, Brussels sprouts have been genetically modified in recent decades to taste significantly better than those you remember from your childhood.
I've only seen articles about GMO Brussels sprouts tasting better, corn homogenizing and different varieties disappearing, and apples being modified for taste and longer-lasting freshness, but it's definitely a thing.Perhaps. Not sure about GM but regarding disdained as a kid. This is a left over from when we were hunter gathers. Kids taste bitter stronger so a lot of vegetables are not to their pallets, in addition they have a ingrained sense to avoid eating plants from a survival point.Perhaps. My kids both loved veggies when we cooked them. I think it is as much a texture thing. Not sure about GM but regarding disdained as a kid. This is a left over from when we were hunter gathers. There is no good wine. It all tastes like decaying liquid trash. And much like @Mr_bogey with the evil sprouts, 50 different people have told me "just try this one, it's different." Listen, if a sommelier, SOMEONE WHO RECOMMENDS WINE FOR A LIVING, gave up on me, your odds of getting me to like your fav are abysmal. It's just gonna end up with me gagging, and not in the good way.
^^^ How did we learn that some berries are sweet and others are deadly?
Probably how wine was discovered. It is not as much as we learnt it, than it is we cultivated the plants, bushes and trees.
Most berries are horribly bitter and tart.
But, of the sugar content is what we are going for: look at the berries/fruits in late summer, when they are over ripe, that is when the sugar will ferment into alcohol and you will see tons of intoxicated wasps swarming around..
(But do avoid them though..)
How we learnt which ones are the deadly poisonous ones..good question! Obviously, stomach ache was a factor. But.. that is a longer discussion.
Someone? It was the guy saying they still suck.As someone else mentioned earlier, Brussels sprouts have been genetically modified in recent decades to taste significantly better than those you remember from your childhood.
