LOL You can shoot anything you want. I'm a bolt gun guy and you aren't. No one to bless or blame there.

I have a couple of bolts that I like, including a P17 Enfield. Smoothest bolt I own. I'm just on a semi-auto kick right now.

Actually, an M1 in .25-'06 would be interesting.

I've got a 30-06 and a 25-06 on older Enfield actions. Other than bolt throw angle, they are amazing. But on a Garand? Interesting concept.

I don't have a Brit Enfield. I like my P17 a lot. I'm content with it as a .30-'06. I really like the M1. I know, it's clunky and dated, but that's part of its charm, and if it's built properly, it's close enough to be Lights Out. Now I'm wondering what chambers and bore sizes are available for it. A custom barrel? Likely pricey.

Ping, motherfuckers!!! ;)

Really good glass without the Leupold price tag.

I already have looked. I think maybe Leupold is snob appeal, too.

Kinda like some Action Snobs we have have come in contact with . . . .

This thread is a fantasy camp and sharing/training center for right-wingers who blame the government for their lack of personal happiness and social success.

When a lone wolf goes off the rails with gun violence and leaves behind an electronic trail to Lit, this thread is the best place to find possible collaborators with the perpetrator.

Dude back away from the crack pipe one more toke and there is no coming back from your psychosis.

I just might if I have 20 to 30 wild hogs tearing up my yard. Destructive Son of a Bitches that they are.

I don't have those, either Here or There. We do have coyotes there, and I do think a few rounds in the mag are a good idea for follow-ups, or in case they bring their friends.

Or if rabid Litsters show up . . . .

I'd rather have the coyotes. They don't make the yard look like someone plowed it with a tractor!

Out West, we're pretty well fenced in to keep the horses at home. The coyotes are mostly in the woods or in the fields around us, just passing through. I'd like for some to stay awhile, as buzzard food.

We prefer Sig pistols. We have them in 9mm and .40 caliber. We also have a Colt M4 carbine and a Mossberg 12 gauge.
He's a veteran so he likes to be prepared. We have more ammo than Ecuador.
❤️ Mossberg 500 12 gauge pump action is still hands down the best value in the category. Under $500 and reliable af

Wat has 2 Mossbergs - the 590 and an over/under in 20 gauge. He has a Weatherby semi-auto, also in 20. Then there's the AK-type 12 gauge, a semi, needless to say. I think that's all of them.

I still think I'd like a 12 gauge semi like an 1100 or the 930/940

I've worked on both the 1100 and 940 and the 1100 is a little easier to work on BUT both have their issues.

The 1100 uses a neoprene type O-ring for the gas seal on the piston. This is a point of failure, easily replaced but a still can be an issue.

The 930-940's use a double steel split ring assembly on the piston as a gas seal. More complicated to deal with but longer lasting. This does come at a price. The seal between the piston and the gas cylinder is a steel on steel contact point. The split rings can be replaced but eventually they're going to wear on the cylinder and it's replace the barrel time when that happens.

Both have the recoil spring in the stock and that too will eventually get weak and cause cycling problems.

I anticipate either one to get light duty.

Mentioning home-grown riflemen, happy birthday, Alvin York.

Either one will last a lifetime with light use BUT the O-ring of the 1100 will deteriorate with age.
