So much damn incest

Why did you start an entire thread just to shit on other people's fantasies?
No. Read the thread, it's been respectful and so have I. We can disagree on some things can't we? Some of the responses were really good and I liked them.
But thanks for chiming in out of context and three pages in.

Didn't feel like reading the entire thread. Your initial post told me what I needed to know. If you were being sarcastic, it definitely didn't come through.

I'll admit that I've written some and will continue to do so, but sex within the immediate nuclear family is hard to comprehend. But, I don't let it bother me. I check out the tags and offered Author's Notes, on every story before I start reading and I hardly ever have an issue.

Interesting choice of words. Why not 'proud to claim'?

You get the feeling that there's a kind of thinly-disguised, barely-below-the-surface anti-taboo movement on Lit. which, if it had its way, would engage gaily in '30s-style book burnings at the drop of a hat.

Personally, I'd rather not see the site turned into some bowdlerised, milksoppish romance fest with precious little spice to it, a situation which I suspect would suit some of the posters on this thread down to the proverbial ground.

Don't mistake my criticism for censorship advocacy. 👍

A fair question. And you're right, it should have been 'proud to claim" because I am proud of my work. But, incest has kind of been a big 'ew' for me, due to a rather turbulent childhood. When I started writing, I just figured incest stories weren't going to be on my radar. But, I've found that familial relations outside the nuclear family, are of interest to me. So hot aunt, trophy stepmom, MIL, those I could be turned on by.

I agree on mother son incest being gack. Seriously there are very few women in my life more unattractive to me than my mother. But my stepfather likes her well enough to have stayed married to her over thirty years. Go figure.

the main reason porn is faux-cest and step is down to the payment companies putting pressure on sites like pornhub [as a form of censorship]. they don't like direct blood ties. this cascades down to the producers then having to adjust their content. i write for a fairly major player - something like 20 scenes a month. i have to be very careful about dialogue and always have to include direct clarification of the relationship - i.e. step-[sibling, mother, etc.].

for conspiracy theorists, it could be seen as [another] element of control by those faceless illuminati shadows out there. :D

Considering America is the land of the free (oh - and assuming you're making this porn in America) - it sure seems to have a lot of issues with certain things...

Another thing to consider is that a lot of what's written here is demand-driven. I/T is where the readers are, and if a writer wants to attract a broader audience it makes sense to tap into that demand.

That doesn't mean that we're typing with one hand and fondling ourselves with the other. For authors, I'd say it's more about finding characters and situations we enjoy writing about than simply about sexual arousal from our own stories. After I wrote my first I/T story I became intrigued by the possibilities. The male character (the narrator) pretty bland, but he's there as a foil to the female character, his sister, who's great fun to write about. The taboo aspect of incest adds a layer of tension that would be missing otherwise.

compared to UK, the US is still a tad puritanical. but isn't that the reason they left in the first place? :D

Yes..... Thankfully some of them have actually started to think for themselves. Yet they are still happier to show violent deaths on screen, rather than romance/love.

For me, and the series I'm currently writing, it's all about making it reasonably believable. Or at least..... moderately, reasonably believable. :) Not every person in the world would jump at the chance to have sex with family, but if you build up the scenario around the situation... it firstly makes it seem more believable, and secondly makes you more invested as the reader.

Was The Lord of the Rings a story about a young Hobbit who throws a ring into some lava... Yes, but there's a couple hundred thousands words to take you there first.

susprnsion of disbelief is a key element.

I have noticed that the incest category is crazy popular here, and after seven published stories, I decided to try my own hand at an incest tale… half curious to see how that will do against my other stories, and if it draws readers to my previous works!

Not including my latest story, which was only published an hour or so ago, I have 20 stories here. Two of those are in I/T, and they account for two thirds of my views. They've also definitely boosted views on my other works, if not necessarily the ratings.

It's a general rule that when you post any new story, it'll cause a ripple of new views on your other stories.

I track my stats weekly, and I can see the increase in views on most of my stories when a new story drops. It's not huge, but it's noticeable.

What's the deal with so much focus on incest? Don't people get turned on by people other than their sister and mother??? Geeze.

I was wondering that myself; that used to be confined to captioned stories on Deviant Art and now it's font page of Pornhub quite often.

A lot of stuff has become more extreme these days - like facesitting was considered a kinky past time, but now people are farting on each other. Foot fetish has always been common, but now instead of "I'll let you touch my feet" it's "suck my gym socks I've worn for a week".

To answer the question - I think that, due to the availability of ever more extreme porn, people are getting ever more extreme fetishes.

Why did you start an entire thread just to shit on other people's fantasies?

I don't think Ph7000 understands that it's not the literal sister or mother, it's more of a fantasy sister or mother.

If you think of it literally, the revulsion makes sense even for people with the fetish.

People are allowed to discuss things they don't like, and to question why things are or aren't popular. Starting a thread asking "why are people so into this?" is nowhere near as odd as, say, getting aggressive about it, or claiming that OP must be secretly into it, or going on tangents about eighteen year olds jacking it to their mom's underwear (that is. Not normal).

And let's be real here, Lit's incest focus is unusual. Even by porn standards, this site is heavily focused on incest. Pornhub might have a load of 'MILF bangs stepson!' videos but you literally cannot browse these forums without running into more incest than you can shake a stick at. People here will sagely tell you that 'a mom-son story' is the most popular type of content. There are slang terms and standards and cliche plotlines: 'Mom's Hot Why Not', 'a standard mom-on-my-lap plot', no-go rules for the I/T category, etc. When I was new I found a thread wailing about how the genre was dying and mourning the 'glory days' of mother-son incest, only to glance at Story Ideas and seeing almost every other thread being incest-themed. It was like being in the Twilight Zone.

Now, I'm not the sort to make a thread about such things, and since it's not my fetish I usually just go elsewhere, but I totally get the complaint? Like, this is December; every ad, every TV channel, every storefront window is going to be blaring about Christmas from now until the 25th. Spare a thought for the millions of people who're going to be working retail this season, because after hearing enough repeats of 'Wonderful Christmastime' on the store's only holiday album, it's hard to escape the conclusion that they shot the wrong Beatle. People get annoyed by endless repitition; people hate pop stars when they're all that's on the radio, people will refuse to read a popular books if all their friends recommend them it, so of course they'll get a bit tired when, quick glance, more than a third of all page-one titles in Story Ideas mention incest.

Nah, things have always been extreme. The extreme stuff is just filtering into the mainstream more. Let me quote James Joyce for the class:

My sweet little whorish Nora I did as you told me, you dirty little girl, and pulled myself off twice when I read your letter. I am delighted to see that you do like being fucked arseways. Yes, now I can remember that night when I fucked you for so long backwards. It was the dirtiest fucking I ever gave you, darling. My prick was stuck in you for hours, fucking in and out under your upturned rump. I felt your fat sweaty buttocks under my belly and saw your flushed face and mad eyes. At every fuck I gave you your shameless tongue came bursting out through your lips and if a gave you a bigger stronger fuck than usual, fat dirty farts came spluttering out of your backside. You had an arse full of farts that night, darling, and I fucked them out of you, big fat fellows, long windy ones, quick little merry cracks and a lot of tiny little naughty farties ending in a long gush from your hole. It is wonderful to fuck a farting woman when every fuck drives one out of her. I think I would know Nora's fart anywhere. I think I could pick hers out in a roomful of farting women. It is a rather girlish noise not like the wet windy fart which I imagine fat wives have. It is sudden and dry and dirty like what a bold girl would let off in fun in a school dormitory at night. I hope Nora will let off no end of her farts in my face so that I may know their smell also.
EDIT: Moments after posting this I got an alert for a thread I'd posted in. Someone posted an excerpt from their new story. It was about incest.

Oh no I am aware of that, what I'm saying would be more like:

"On average, a person will use more extreme pornography and/or have gained more extreme fetishes than in previous decades"

However if you go back 10 years, if you remember the front pages of the most popular sites of the time, it was less extreme (and furthermore, companies went to great lengths to let you know the models were over 18).

Points for quoting James Joyce! When I was studying paraphilia I came across him being mentioned in relation to ass licking. I actually have a copy of the first novel known to have mentioned that topic :ROFLMAO: (or maybe the first mention in a german novel, I can't remember): Der abenteuerliche Simplicissimus Teutsch
