And necessary. And legal in most cases, all for those who play ball within the system. They are tools, no more or no less than a shovel or a hammer, and no better or worse than the person using it/them.

There is a state over there >>> that limits handgun purchases to one firearm per month. It’s legislation, so there’s the political bit. Was in, was voted out, then was voted back in.

Many people bemoan this, but the positive outlook is, buy one firearm (or firearm related) item per month. So, at our house, we do.

New firearms can be quite pricey, so most months, it’s ammo. I have a website for case quantities of ammo for cheap, and free shipping. That’s right, drop shipped by Brown to my front porch. Last month, the deal of the month was a full case of Black Rifle ammo from Eastern Europe. I’ve used that brand before with great success, so I laid my money down. This month has two extra invoices, so there’s a bit of a quandary as to what to get. Decisions, decisions . . .

And, of course, firearms have triggers, so there’s that, too . . . .
Stay away from this shit if you have an M1A or an M14:

I saw that, he has multiple examples of that ammo blowing up rifles and the ammo distributor won't take responsibility nor the manufacturer.
There is a follow-up video showing that Springfield Armory did replace his rifle when they didn't have an obligation to do so. A good public relations move for the company. The ammo came from somewhere in Europe. One does have to be careful in doing their due diligence in vetting a foreign source.

I've never seen that stuff for sale.

I did just order a small case of Lake City. I think they know what they're about.
I used to shoot Lake City National Match ammunition. I hear the government is trying to close off its sales to the public. I wonder if that is true.

NY Times ran an article on how LC brass was recovered in some mass shootings then some Congress critters are now insisting an audit of how much is sold to civilians. The one government owned agency that actually tries to make a profit they want it shut down because a few dozen rounds out of literally billions sold per year get used with bad intentions.

Make of this what you will. This is what I sprang for:

7.62x51mm 175 Grain Hollow Point BT Matchking Winchester Match Ammo by Lake City

Hey?
Anyone here know a European ammo distributor that sells for the M1A or M14?
I’ve got some good friends I’ve made online that I wanna send some stocking stuffers to this Christmas.

This accident occurred in 2008:

Another report arrives courtesy of @EliseCLambert: Guy blew himself up cleaning a Civil War cannonball in his driveway midway between Richmond and Petersburg, Virginia:

The investigation by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms found that 53-year-old Sam White was working on the cannonball in his Chesterfield County driveway with a grinding tool. The tool ignited gunpowder residue, which exploded the shell.

Part of the shell landed a quarter mile away. Sure, it happened a decade ago, but that’s pretty recent in the context of a war that ended 153 years ago.

What?
No thoughts? No prayers?
No taps playing for a fallen idiot?
You guys are heartless.

It hasn't happened yet and is unlikely to happen no matter how much jawboning the morons in congress do. It's a matter of production planning, not virtue signaling.

Seems to me that I bought some .308/7.62 within the last year or two and that it was Lake City brass. I'm sure that box is Out West and that I'll think of several thousand things between now and then so that I'll forget to check.
