A horde of things that look human, but are actually vicious monsters. Shooting them in the head is the only way to stop them. Actually making the zombies black would be too on-the-nose.

1. There already are black zombies. Or don't you know that?

2. I really wonder what color the sky is in your world.

This place is a cesspool! It’s filled with liars and idiots who hurl unnecessary insults at innocent people. I’m always disappointed in that (yeah, I said it). But, one of the few joys I get here that instantly turns me into a fanboy/fangirl having the feels is watching women: butters, adrina, BSG, smokingfap go superhero mode and surgically castrate fools with their words and logic.

You are quite good at hurling your own brand of smug insults. So please step down from your heavenly cloud because you are no angel yourself.

How can I not graciously accept this as a heartfelt compliment? Ty TH. Ty Wat.

Remington is shuttering its Illion NY manufacturing facility. From the reports they plan on moving that operation to GA. Quite frankly they should have moved out of NY 20 years ago but better late than never.

And costly, although CNC machining might take some of the sting out of grinding that receiver.

I'll bet the 50s models were better.
First of all I'm surprised that H&R still had the tooling.

With CNC techniques the receiver isn't much of a problem, the clip follower is another story. The trigger housing group is actually simpler than the M14, very similar to the M1A. If they decide to move forward the price should be competitive with the M1A based on market demand.

Hmmm. maybe. Those op-rods are a piece of work all by themselves.

A decent M1A is $1600 in its original form with the state-specific modified models somewhat less in some cases, but for a fucked up version.

I'd spring for a new M1, I think. I like them. They do respond to accurizing, too.

I'm all for it, albeit for a different reason. A resurgence in the venerable 30-06 means more brass available for me. :)

Once upon a time, Wat scored some CMP .30-'06, as many cans as his feeble-at-the-time funding would allow. That, boys and girls, is some fine shooting well made stuff. Methinks there are a couple of 5-gallon buckets of hulls Out West.

I have a 1953 Garand, made under liscence by Baretta for the danish government. I’ve never fired it. Sonofabitch is heavy! It’s in really good condition.

It’s 30-06, not 7.62x51. I should strip it to ensure that the parts all match. I bought it from a friend, not from the CMP.

I really need to fire this. It’s the only rifle I own that I’ve never fired.

The weight helps with the recoil. They're a lot easier on the shoulder than an '03A3, or any of the WW2 bolt guns, for that matter.

I still have a pot load of LC 43 left, but it's diminishing. After resizing and such I only get 5-7 reloads/case.

A buddy of mine hinted that he would be willing to let me have some match loads for the M1. This was a good 15 years ago.

Good thing I didn't hold my breath . . . .

I've got about 500 cases of 45 ACP National Match brass that I've never reloaded. In that I never got back into competitive pistol I never saw the need.

Not doing any match shooting is why I stopped reloading, that and being somewhat scattered these days. It's not like I don't have more than enough to do as it is.

Springfield introduced the M1A SOCOM a few years ago which is basically an M1 Garand chambered in .308

Yeah, reloading is a bitch.

But look on the bright side. Soon you'll be in a nursing home.
