I think Weatherby is the only manufacturer who chambers for it.
I have two 25-06's (soon to be three). One is one I built on a Mauser action the other is a Ruger #1. The Mauser will still drive tacks at 100 yds but it has a 1:10 twist and doesn't like the new longer bullets. The Ruger is a 1976 Bicentennial with a custom stock (Ruger built) and has become a 'collectors' item so its been retired. Hence the new build.

As an addendum, below is a clip comparing the 25-06, 6.5 CM, and 270. The clip is two years old and since then various manufacturers have offered bullets in the 257 class that match the 6.5 in BC and SD with weights up to 142 gr. Notice the mention twist rate related to length/weight.

Years ago, I bought a Smith-Corona '03A3 five digit receiver which had been sporterized into a .308 Norma Magnum. Talk about your rounds that never caught on. I did do the research and have discovered that the chamber can be reamed to a .300 WM for about the same effort as reaming a new barrel. I did buy a few rounds of its ridiculously priced ammo to try it out, and it does shoot nicely. The buying decision was made on the interesting nature of the receiver. Anyway, it sits in the corner, waiting.

Future cartridge choices, if any, will be based on common availability.

There is something to be said for having all the same caliber for when the zombies go wild. Saves time reloading.

But I do like the odd-ball calibers. I hunt, but I'm not an avid hunter. I shoot a few dozen rabbits and squirrels a year and a few deer. That's all I can eat.

I am more of a collector of art than the typical gun nut. I have a dozen or so guns I've never even shot. The Henry .38-55 will never have a round through it.

I'm primarily a shooter. I have a few personal issues with varmint shooting but no issues with hunting. My problem is that I cannot walk far, climb, or carry anything more than about 25 lbs for short short short periods of time. This limits any field work to staying close to the parking area and having a grunt to haul my stuff for me. Facts of life.

A .22-250AI works for any situation I could conceivably find myself in. Out to 200-300 yds it will take deer and smaller hogs with good shot placement and the correct bullet. It can also be used to shoot benchrest or PRS out to 500-600 yds, and might be a lot of fun to develop loads for.

6mm would be harder to deal with but with a brake it might be something worthwhile to play with and explore. The biggest turnoff is that it's a follow the herd caliber. Not into that.

The 25.06 would be a "my way" kind of rifle but without a modern following it's limited in the roles it can fill. Basically, when compared to the 25.06, the 6mm Remington is better for PRS, can hunt just as hard in the field, and would cost less to run overall. That's a face the reality situation.
The good thing about the .22-250AI is that you can fire form the cases by firing regular .22-250 rounds in the AI chamber and you'll get acceptable accuracy while doing it as well. After they are formed AI cases they will last a lot longer without trimming for case stretch. In addition the new 40-degree shoulder allows for about 10% more powder and added performance. below is all you need to know:

Hopalong Hoplophobe strikes again . . . .
Watcha talkin' about? The courts have confirmed that unregulated militias have a right to prepare for a zombie invasion.

So keep cleaning the semen off your weapons, and be ready for anything! The rest of us will keep burying school children.

Yawn...Do you ever get tired of being that stupid?

I'd never own a .270, even if that is contempt prior to investigation.
I had a great uncle who swore by the .270. He killed every big game animal in the lower 48 and a record Canadian Moose with it. Incidentally, his choice of powder was a 50 lb barrel of IMR 3031, back in the 30s and 40s when you could purchase those amounts over the counter. His son inherited it and is still reloading with it. :)

There are better rounds available today but that .277 bullet will shoot flatter than a .30-06. To me, the 130 grain bullet is too light on terminal energy for my liking.

Abortion doesn't involve babies
According to you. The fetuses will progress to being live birth babies if they are not aborted. If it eases your mind to pretend they are not babies then so be it. It doesn't change the facts though.

Let me clear this up for you. You don't have an abortion because you don't want a mass of cells, or a fetus, you have an abortion because you don't want a baby. It's a medical procedure done to eliminate having a baby. Period. End of all the propaganda.

Its okay to kill 930,000 babies in 2020 during a medical procedure called abortion. At least that's what the liberals say.

Most zombies are liberals anyways.
My keyboard has triggers! Must be the new scope I purchased at the Black Friday sale.

According to facts. They don't become babies until birth. Definitions don't change because of an agenda.

Biden progressed to being President. They didn't call him President when he was 12.
