AI Allegations Thread

then it will not pass the Turing test. Send it for reeducation!

Edit: I spent a couple of minutes trying to think of some sort of punny alternative for the Turing test that would be specific to you. But I'm all out of Nerd juice tonight 😿
Now you have me thinking too. Nah, I’ve got nothing.

Luckily, my writing is so god awful that it could never be detected as AI-generated ...

LOL - I have a friend, Steve. Steve likes talking about AI (but doesn't know much about it, technically). One day we were at lunch, and I was explaining the Turing Test to him and how it was a difficult standard to exceed (I spent a decade plus working with AI).

When I explained that it had to be crafted in such a way that an ordinary person couldn't tell they were talking to an AI he asked: "But what if the person is stupid and easy to fool?". I went back to the office and asked the question to my coworkers. They got a kick out of it and from then on we referred to it as "The Steve Test".

We build many systems that could fool The Steve Test, never anything that came close to the Turing Test.

Now, I am contemplating The Horny Steve Test as a standard. What is the standard to fool a Stupid Horny Male into believing they're having cyber-sex with a person? I don't think it would be very high at all. Just endless repetitions of "Oh, you make me wet" and "I'm touching myself."

Doesn't matter what they know, because they wouldn't care

The average Stupid Horny Male will happily believe he's having real sex with a person from just having a wank.

Oh shit. Does this mean there AREN’T hot singles in my area?

And lo, behold the rise of AI erotica (and the anti-AI erotica).

Personally, I think it's fine - just give the AI credit along with the author of crafting the story and let the chips fall where they will.

*Not a real tool, so don't go looking for it...yet.

I didn't even use MS Word. I typed it directly into the New Story box here, which does helpfully underline in red if I happen to misspell something. But there's no grammar or style checking. And 31 of my stories were pulled after readers reported them. I am not speculating as to why they were reported, because I don't have that info, but the rejection form accompanying them was the boilerplate form claiming AI content.

Edited to remove quotes I didn't mean to include.
I'm gonna tell you like I've told many fanfic writers; that is a really not wise thing to do.

Of course I don't know the answer, but a quick Google search (again, take it with a grain of salt) reports revenue for the site at $6,000,000.

Take it with a truckload of salt.

There are lots of sites offering wildly different "valuations" for Literotica, or any other website you care to name. They're not based on any kind of reliable financial information, they're just a form of advertising by people whose business is "hire us to monetise your website". They have an interest in inflating the valuation because "you could be making $6m a year from this site if you just hired us" is a more appealing pitch than "the money you could make won't cover what we charge".

At best, the valuation is based on taking figures for daily/monthly visitors and multiplying by some magic number calculated from other websites that may have little or nothing to do with this one.

I am getting a 3%-8% AI score, but it is interesting to see which sentences the tool flags. Some of them make sense because of the blandness, but others...
People for whom English is a second language (even the articulate ones - not that I’m giving you a compliment) tend to trip AI checkers more.

I said essentially the same thing as Simon, and you accused me of gaslighting you.

I got accused of gaslighting too. I'm also, apparently, a sexist creep.

Still awaiting an apology. Oh. Wait.

No I'm not. I don't really care for one. Not from this OP.

OP, don't get excited about what's transpiring here. What you see is an antisocial caravan led by a cynic coachman who has yet again discovered a new method of tormenting his insular mules. This is the realm of the socios, by the socios, for the socios.

AI is a remarkable tool, and it would be unwise not to employ it... judiciously.

If the caravan appeals to you, take the reins and leave the whip to others.

Note that each mule bears its own set of non-healing scars, carved by a mythical ghost. But don't worry, you'll always have the freedom of snitch.
I've missed this.

How have you been?

Do you like the new username?

Thought up an avatar yet?

The average Stupid Horny Male thinks that waitresses laugh at their jokes because they like them.

Hi Tilan.

Plagiarism is a remarkable tool also, and it provides the exact same service as AI. It allows you to take someone else's work and present it as your own without engaging a single neuron, without talent or skill.

This website is an engine of human intelligence, a gathering place of artists not programmers or plagiarists. If you have to resort to begging your MacBook to write erotica for you it merely means that either you failed English or you failed sex. Possibly both. But falsely claiming it as your own is criminal.

It occurs to me that if I had a really great idea for a story, that could be expressed in a few paragraphs, I'd play with an AI generator to flesh it out, but according to what bramblethorn wrote, it's more effort to guide the generator than to actually write the thing yourself.

Yes and no. It took me a fair bit of work to get the first few examples that I posted yesterday, but a lot of that was figuring out what kinds of prompts worked and getting GPT into a state where it was willing to write porn for me. Once I got GPT into the zone I just had to give it a "write three more paragraphs like the last one" prompt to get a bunch more.

With practice, I think I'd be able to figure out a GPT-assisted workflow that was faster than writing the whole thing myself. (That's a low bar; my standard writing pace is somewhere between "glacial" and "tectonic".) It's more that I wouldn't be happy with the results; I'm very particular about what I write.

(also LLMs are energy-intensive and rely heavily on sweatshop labour but nobody seems to find those issues persuasive)

I mean I get it. I struggle to calibrate social interactions as well. The difference is I at least try to self-monitor.
