Family and inlaws visiting our house tomorrow so it'll be a busy day today with decorating and cleaning the house plus grocery shopping today. Tomorrow it'll be a traditional thanksgiving meal with the family. Actually looking forward to it.

Sounds great. I was lucky to get groceries Monday. Gonna make pies tonight and straighten up the house. Everything else can be done tomorrow. Gonna bake potatoes in the oven like we used to before microwaves. I put olive oil and a little kosher salt on the outside as I bake..... so yummy.

You'll definitely enjoy tomorrow. It's a good time of the year and granted it's a cliche but we all have so much to be thankful for. Watch the 5pm news to see those who aren't as blessed.

I was just in a meeting and 8 swear sometimes I feel like I have receptive aphasia. And/or they are trick questions....it is such bullshit.... I just want to do my job not have to formulate action plans on excel spreadsheets (with little to no training) and hey you are going to present to leadership too...on stuff you don't know about

There is nothing worse than documenting what you plan to do, then do it, then document proof that you did it. Why can't they just get the heck out of the way and let us DO what we're good at (and what they hired us to actually DO)? If I could be spared the pre-documenting and the post documenting, I'd have a heck of a lot more time to actually DO what I'm paid for and move the organization forward.

It's funny, I left the corporate world for public service almost 20 years ago. I'm just about as low as I can get in the power structure now, and I had less rigamarole (new buzz words, mandated "best practices", etc, etc) to deal with in the corporate world where I was closer to the top. Proof of that saying that it all flows downhill somehow?
