Aww sorry you don’t feel good. I used to feel the same after flu shots. That is why I stopped getting them. And I am sure you could be lucky.

Not rainy here but definitely dreary. Fortunately (?) the classroom I’m subbing in today has no windows so I can pretend the weather outside is whatever I want it to be!

US old people: how many of you are preparing Thanksgiving dinner this week? This year it’s just going to be me and my family on Thanksgiving Day (normally we would at least have my brother and his family over too but his father in law just passed), and then we are doing another one Friday at my sisters house. My kids are supposed to be making pies but none have been done so far, even though I asked them to work on them these evenings so there is nobody in my way Wednesday when I’m prepping everything… but I have a feeling they will all be trying to do it then…

This year it’s just going to be me and my family on Thanksgiving Day (normally we would at least have my brother and his family over too but his father in law just passed), and then we are doing another one Friday at my sisters house. My kids are supposed to be making pies but none have been done so far, even though I asked them to work on them these evenings so there is nobody in my way Wednesday when I’m prepping everything… but I have a feeling they will all be trying to do it then…

It will be just me my sister and her son. I dont like turkey so we are having meatloaf loaded baked potatoes and bacon wrapped asparagus... oh and pumpkin pie of course. Gonna bake the pies Wednesday. Otherwise everything is pretty easy. I sort of wish they would just stay home. I am not in the mood for the holidays... they just make me sad.

I have decided to boycott this year. No real reason. multiple invites from family and friends. I am taking a long weekend and just going to hunt weather permitting and relax.

Yeah... I understand. I have had to limit my interaction with over half my family and my parents are under the spell of my asshole brother in law and oldest sister. I finally figured out that there wasn't anything I could do about it. So far nothing has changed. But!! I dont have to be the housework donkey anymore so there is that.... long long long story.... 7 would rather be alone than put up with the dysfunction... my grandma used to make the most delicious lemon meringue pie and her meringue never wept... my meringue does sometime (when I make it)

We usually have most of the extended family except for my youngest sister and her kids, but this year my other sister decided she was doing one with her in-laws on Thursday and the other with our side Friday. With most of my nieces and nephew adults and married it gets harder and harder to get everyone together any more.

Family and inlaws visiting our house tomorrow so it'll be a busy day today with decorating and cleaning the house plus grocery shopping today. Tomorrow it'll be a traditional thanksgiving meal with the family. Actually looking forward to it.
