Like cancer, when resecting a tumor good cells are destroyed to get good margins, Hamas is a cancer surrounded by innocent people *sad* Hamas has to be totally destroyed and Iran’s theocracy toppled.

A group of State Department staffers have criticized President Joe Biden for his pro-Israel stance, demanding that the president call for a ceasefire, according to a leaked memo obtained by Politico.

Biden and his administration have committed to supporting Israel’s war against Hamas after the terrorist group killed over 1,400 Israelis in an Oct. 7 attack. The Biden administration staffers behind the memo are asking the White House to air criticism of the Israeli government’s treatment of Palestinians that it would normally keep private, Politico reported.

“We must publicly criticize Israel’s violations of international norms such as failure to limit offensive operations to legitimate military targets,” the memo states, according to Politico. “When Israel supports settler violence and illegal land seizures or employs excessive use of force against Palestinians, we must communicate publicly that this goes against our American values so that Israel does not act with impunity.”

The memo claims that there is a gap in the Biden administration’s messaging on the Israel-Hamas war and that the current line “contributes to regional public perceptions that the United States is a biased and dishonest actor, which at best does not advance, and at worst harms, U.S. interests worldwide,” Politico reported. The leaked memo concedes that Israel has the “legitimate right and obligation” to attack Hamas, though it adds that “the extent of human lives lost thus far is unacceptable.”

There is no realistic way to destroy Hamas, especially not this way. Toppling Iran would be one of the worst mistakes we've made since the last time we toppled them. We need to start talking with them on the regular.

No, I'm logical. There is no destroying Hamas, not really. They might change brands like how Al Qaeda had a lot of people who ended up in ISIS. Hamas might go down but give a year or two and Hamas 2.0 will show up.

As for Iran Obama had the right idea. Bring them to the table. Stop giving them reasons to feel victimized.

They can wipe out Hamas to the point they are not a threat to Palestinians. Assist in free elections and a global effort to rebuild. Shut down schools teaching hate and perhaps install a neutral peace keeping force.

Iran is the number one state sponsor of terrorism. You can’t bargain with terrorist. Their creed is the destruction of Israel.

They can destroy Hamas to a point that they need a brand change, nothing more than that. Assisting in free elections won't change things because they've spent how long getting their land stolen and now being carpet bombed. You think they would elect someone who would be forgiving of Israel? Would you?

Pretty sure ultimately the US is the number one state sponsor of terrorism. You very much can and should bargain with terrorists. This is how shit gets done.

The JCPOA was an excellent step towards normalisation with Iran and the West. It was working, Iran was co-operating, then Trump got in and fucked it up. Now, how does Iran ever trust the West to make a deal again?
