What’s your most controversial opinion?

I hear people say that they will pray for someone's soul when they've done something bad.

Yet no one prays for lucifers soul, and he's the original sinner.

Lucifer is living his best life, so no need to pray for his soul, he’s a full boss.

Back to SEX.., politics? Meet you in that forum

I think the term “camel toe” is offensive
But
I’m a man
I like camel toes! Are they uncomfortable??
So?
Dick & Jane… Ladies all have a “Jane” ok?
“Camel Toe” becomes “Jane Smile” Jane Grin” ??
Less offensive? or still objectifies women ??
I never knew there were so many nicknames for my vagina. I have heard multiple names for a man's penis... "having a Jane" was new to me.

I did not expect such a lengthy response. Sadly, I have replied in just as lengthy a format.

First: The Republicans are trying to take away all abortion rights, and no, I don't think it's right. I personally don't like abortion as a birth control (we have many forms already), but there are lots of other reasons abortion is the right choice.

The obvious rebuttal is Democrats wanting to take away guns, yes, 90% of this is rhetoric and overblown, but there are those that want to. Do we need better gun laws? Yes, kind of, more like we need a more unified law which is what the federal government is for. I could go on a whole thing here, but I expect most of my points people would agree with as sensible.

While not directly taking away rights, reducing penalties for crimes and removing bail amounts is only increasing crime which effectively removes rights of law abiding citizens and directly placing their lives at increased risk. I could probably also argue that letting illegal immigrants to vote directly dilutes a citizens right to vote though in truth our immigration system is broken as it allows no way for an illegal to become legal short of destroying their life.

Second: Sigh, yes, what happened was wrong, about the only thing that can be said positive is they didn't kill anyone, and really that's a low-ass bar. To make it worse, most of them thought it was just a lark and they wouldn't be held accountable. That seriously irritates me; if you do something wrong, own it and take responsibility for it. So why the sigh? It happened, once. How many looting and destruction spree's happened after the George Floyd incident? As far as the arguments that A or B insitgated it, I don't really care if some guy in the back is yelling at you to do something, it's your choice to do it and you're responsible for the outcome.

Third: I am a devout agnostic. I believe church and state should be separate merely because I look at church as I do at Whimpy (I think that was his name) promising to buy two burgers tomorrow if we buy him one today. While I know a lot of our laws/rights come from religion, I'm of the mind that if it's a good idea I'm not too worried about the source. Bans are dumb and have proven to be worse than taking no action time and time again. Did banning alcohol work? No. Drugs? No. Have book bans ever worked? Not really, and in the age of the internet, HA. I like warning labels, however that would require parents to actaully take an interest in their childrens lives (for more than political grandstanding reasons.) I feel that schools are going beyond what they should be teaching, however I also feel they aren't teaching what they should be; math, english, factual history not spun to make people feel bad about shit that happened in the grandparents time, cooking, cleaning, budgeting, finances. Stuff that will let them be somewhat self-sufficient when they graduate and, hopefully, give them the ability to take information in and make decisions based on that information.

Sidebars:
News: I think I said this before but Fox, CNN, ABC, NBC, etc are all politic entities and have ceased to be news organizations. A news organization researches its stories and then reports the facts without leaving anything out or obfuscating what's being said. Finding out anything anymore is a nightmare due to the immense amount of information you need to sort through.

Trump: I liked some of his policies but he really needs to just shut up and stop trying to be the center of attention all the f-ing time.

MAGA; the ones I see seem to be people who are too lazy to think and prefer to spew prerecorded statements and just let their feelings rule them while feeling good about themselves.

Elections: they're rigged from the start as you only have limited choices from day 1 based on the party. I would like elections to be ranked instead of single vote. For fun, I'd like to see an election where you vote for the person you would least want to win and the person with the least votes is the winner, just so people know how disliked they are.

Hope you're having a great day as well.
Thank you for your honest reply. I got several snarky slaps but no real substance. I appreciate your views and opinions because they come from a thoughtful place. The only opposition I have is about gun control. We're the only country in the entire world with multiple mass shootings happening every year. The #1 cause of death to school age children. When I read at a new school I am shown right off WHERE THE MORGUE WILL BE on campus in the event there is a mass shooting? THE MORGUE? IN THE anticipated EVENT. "thoughts and prayers!!" Why is that even something we have to worry about in 2023?? Disgusting.

People DO know that there are the same number of hours of Sun regardless of where the hands point on the clock, don't they?
Yes we do, but I’d prefer my sun in the evening than in the morning. But thank you for the insight on this one.

So get up earlier. Go to work/school/play/etc. earlier. Then you can come home earlier and do whatever you need the daylight for.

The only thing that bugs me about the time change is moving whatever clocks and timers don't do it themselves. Otherwise, no difference.

Ok, hey universe can you just reschedule everything so that everything is done one hour earlier so the sun doesn’t feel like it sets so early? Oh you can? How? Oh, by not having DST end? Sweet, let’s do this.

You can't do this. Schools don't change their start and stop times and business hours don't change. Having said that, I dislike the change because it messes with my sleep schedule and that's already enough of a chore. Add in the fact that different countries change times one different weekends while other countries and states just ignore it completely, and it's a complete cluster.

What matters is the change twice a year, not where the hands are on the clock. Without the change, those schedules could and would be changed, as long as they were 'permanent'.

Drop the change and I don't care if it's mid day high Sun at 3AM. It isn't the numbers that matter. It's the twice a year change that annoys people.

Not to start any shit but every other time I look at this thread I think "What absolute cunt is going to word barf on me next?"

Also you're all a bunch of fuckheads.

🤣 totally playing, I love you guys. Well, most of you. :p

I’m glad you keep telling me what’s annoying to me. You are very helpful that way. Women of Lit, is this how mansplaining feels?
