We tout being a world leader because we do things other countries can't or won't. The house issue is nothing more than a broken blade in the sausage machine, just needs a few parts and we're back in business. Merrick Garland and Harry Reid are relevant to the discussion in that Reid's use of the nuclear option and McConnell's refusal to have an up and down conformation vote for Garland as a supreme court justice plays a big part in understanding the schism between republicans and democrats. Although republicans will reach across the aisle, how else could democrats pass the *gigantic Omnibus* *infrastructure* bills.

I’ve had, what I considered, civil discourse with you before in the past. Remember when you claimed that politicians should be held liable for lying and I then gave you a certain few of the almost 30k trump verified lies? Yeah, that went well.

I'm polishing my eightball for an answer on Emmer. Congressman Emmer's record is here: Emmer's voting record if you are interested.He voted for Ukraine funding but against United Nations Emergency Relief funds and seems to be in the middle of the road on most votes. Perhaps someone thatcould ask for help and reach across the divide.

But a UK press article said he made the kowtow call to Mr. Trump and may have given Emmer a 'ring kiss blessing.' Emmer didn't ascribe to Trump's claim of winning the 2020 election. He voted to certify Bidon's win. At any rate, Trump said Emmer is now 'his greatest fan' after the weekend call that Truman declared 'productive.'

Trump added that only Jesus Christ could lock up enough votes to become speaker. It would be nice if he would make his comeback appearance before the House and put it in order.

First off we're a republic not a democracy, we are a representative form of government guided by democratic principles. We do things different. Our process is difficult by design. Pub Reps are voting on principle. There are some deep divides in the party one being spending and budgets. Matt Gaetz is a jerk but he's parroting what many believe deep down. I personally disagree with how some republicans are behaving but they will come together and when they do the republican party will be stronger. Some rule changes will happen and we'll be better for it.

We are a democracy however. Our version of a Republic is a democracy. This might be the first intelligent post I've seen from you however and well said. Though I disagree. I think a party that thinks government is evil are more than happy to gum up the works. I wish the Dems were similar but I think Black Lives Matter and my friends are "all lives matter.". I think representation matters. Black,brown Asian heroes need a push especially with Jet Li and Jacki mostly retired. I would love to see Muslims and Jews shown in a positive light.

Before the Civil War there were at most 240 representatives, and there were more contentious battles for the gavel back then.
