I'm watching the "war" with interest and wondering, Why is the IDF still using wooden stocks?

I thought we were sending them the good stuff...

????? That sounds just wrong. The Israeli battle rifle is the Tavor and it ain't got no wood.

THEY'RE SHOOTING PEOPLE!!!???

More "innocent" Muslim children, women, handi-capables, trans sexuals, minorities...,

;) ;)

[voice=GOD, AKA Charlton Heston] People! Virulent Palestine is PEOPLE!

Years ago, I did buy a synthetic M14 stock and painted it a lovely shade of green. I tried three shades of green and picked the one that was least obnoxious.

M249 SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon), fires the standard 5.56x45mm NATO rifle round. It can be fed with a standard M16 magazine, a linked belt, or from a belt in the 200 round assault box.

I have fired this when I worked as a firefighter for the military. It is accurate and has very little felt recoil. If I win the lottery and can get an FFL Class 3 this would be on my list of toys to add to my collection.

Let me know if you should be so lucky. I have several ammo carriers for the belt fed option.

I don't think that it's all that difficult or expensive to get a class 3 license. Mostly, it's just the usual gummint panties investigation to check for yellow-in-front-brown-in-back stuff.

To the cop video, it's just kinda wow. Too often, I think they forget that the fired projectile doesn't just go form here to there. It goes waaay over there. There is shoot-through. The backstop needs to be considered every fucking time.

Bells do not unring . . . .

The Model 1911 .45 acp is a single action, recoil operated, semi-automatic pistol that served the US military as the primary side arm from 1911 to 1985. It has continued to serve in some special units.

The 1911 has been copied by dozens of gun manufacturers and continues to be a favorite among competitive shooters and for self defense. I am a big fan of the Springfield Armory version known as the Loaded.

They're all pretty good off the shelf. What we (we being a large group of shooters including a few dealers) have found is that the Remington 1911R1 and the Ruger SR1911 tend to be the best shooters off the shelf, no tweaking required. The Kimber tends to be the most temperamental.

All of them with the Series 80 style slide design tend to have firing pins prone to breakage. I would highly recommend getting an after market firing pin, Wilson Combat and/or Ed Brown have high quality replacement offerings.

Yeah, I need an "assault rifle," whateverthefuck that is, and the 100-round drum mag which prevents Tactical Reloads. You know, in case 33 Loudmouth Litlibs show up at Wat's house, he'll be able to triple tap them all and still have another round in case one is still twitchy. That way, he's Regulated.

For nice shooting, yeah, I love a good 1911. For carry and sich, I like my Glock 21. It's ugly, it doesn't shoot as purdy, but it eliminates a Tactical Reload.

M14 stock arrives Wednesday, so the UPS email says. w000t!!!

For CCW I carry a Firestar M45. I have no particular beef with the Glock 21 other than personal prejudice. I don't particularly care for striker fired pistols or double stack magazines. It has nothing to do with functionality although I have observed that double stackers seem to be more prone to feeding issues and/or stove piping.

100 rnd drum? Why not just get something that's belt fed? :D

I have his and hers variations on that theme.

Solid weapon. Allah's choices.

Along with the AK.

I have one too. And an AR a Bible and a Koran.
You never know who's going to come out on top when the shooting begins.
