Frog Alley cans. Their beer is expensive, but I don't have that aluminum aftertaste I get from the AB, MillerCoors, or the cheaper brands.

@Mr_bogey first and foremost Tig does not "sports". I once tossed her a frisby...a darn near perfect toss. All she would have had to do is open her hand to catch it. Her reaction was to step out of the way and glare at me as if I had just tried to toss her a used condom. There is NO SPORTSING that interests Tig. She is incredibly smart and can understand, comprehend, and retain information better than almost anyone I know, but when you don't give a flying fuck on the subject matter....well there's not much to be done.

That being said, since being on this site and getting to talk to some new friends I am learning about Rugby for the first time. In my opinion comparing Rugby and Football ( NFL, not soccer football) is a little like comparing apples and oranges. Sure they are both fruit...and kinda have the same shape so they sorta look the same. But really they are very different. So I don't know how you could compare the players when they really are such different sports. The whole dynamic and set up of the games are different...so without some serious training to insert Rugby players into Football games or vice-versa I don't see the point.

All that being said, from my inexperienced view point...football players would have to toughen up to play rugby...it seems more brutal, the guys don't go down when tackled, and play isn't being stopped for 3 minutes for evert 30 second play...but again just my opinion.

Much more likely to get off flavors from bottled beer. Craft and Macro. If a brewery has a half-way decent canning line it should taste similar to kegged beer. IPAs do oxidize faster in cans but way worse in bottles. There is still some perceived misconceptions about bottles being superior to cans but it is just old school mentality in peoples heads. Bottles pretty much fucking suck.

I would say though, most breweries around Chicago can their beer.

Opens beers up. Most of what you taste actually comes from nose. Hard to smell when drinking from can.

I can understand that. I thought the controversial opinion was that cans were bad, bottles good because of infused taste.

Maybe the whole preference for bottled over canned beer may be because (at least for traditional British beer) at one point, bottled beers were often bottle conditioned.

Which supposedly gave a different taste and finish.

IF you don't mind the extra sediment from the process.

This might be a factor but I think for most, especially older Macro American beer drinkers, bottles were considered a little classier than aluminum cans. For so long cans were seen as cheap alternative. It is not even close anymore. Bottles especially if they are clear or green give some pretty awful light struck off flavors.
