Yesterday my daughter had a bad day at school. A test she had didn't go well. Then...heaven forbid...as she was walking to the car after school...she lost an ear bud. So she looked in her backpack. She looked in her pockets. She even traced her steps. Nothing. So she sat there...tears running down her face. Took her to get Subway...that usually works. Nope. So I swung by Verizon and picked up a new set. Half off...cause I am a special customer. So $18. I was raised very religious, but not to repress my emotions at all. I was always disconcerted that I saw my peers shocked when I would communicate my feelings or needs. One of my parents is a psychologist and I credit them with the balance. I like to remind people that even Jesus lost his temper in the temple and turned over the tables of the money changers. If even he can get angry, it's not a sin if you are!
