Wat's Guns-N-Stuff Thread

I totally agree with Harpy on this one. We should investigate every gun purchaser to see if they lied about drug use on their 4473 form, and if so, then deny them the ability to purchase a weapon. And if Hunter gets locked up for lying on his form, that should set a precedent for incarceration. I mean, if someone is willing to engage in illegal acts, and then lie about it, they should suffer the same consequences as Hunter. That would be appropriate under Bruen's text, history, and tradition test

Ya know, just to be sure, we should drug test gun purchasers and owners, like they do with holders of Commercial Driver Licenses. Safety first.

Good call, Harp! You da man!!!

You understand that the 4473 is actually "a test" don't you? It's just not the test you want done because it tests you instead of me.

Those are the very special hair clips that strippers wear in their hair.

In the below picture, the one on the left is an en bloc clip for the US 30 caliber M1. The one on the right looks like a stripper clip for the Eastern bloc weapons, which is a stripper clip. Theirs tend to be curved.

I think that P. P. Mauser developed the clips for rapid reloads for his original small-ring military bolt rifles and retained them for the 98s.

Then again, Google may have other ideas, so . . . .

I have a boatload of these:

They're for a battlefield pickup Carcano my dad got from my grandfather as part of my mom's dowry. It totally shot out and corroded and not good for anything except storing deep in the back of the safe where it's true condition can't be seen.

I probably still have thousands of original mil surplus rounds for it that I bought when I was a kid.

I have a couple of hundred rounds for an Austrian Mannlicher, same deal. Shoot the rounds and the (en bloc) clip falls out of the bottom. The ammo is so old it has a Nazi headstamp on it. And to date (okay, 25 years ago) every round went *boom*

Every picture of guns & bullets posted by Conservatives in here screams "incel". It surpasses the nerdiest of hobby forums.

What a wonderful freakshow! 🤣🤣

Back in the days of my youth it was fun. I'd have to make plans and figure out where to get the money for gas, pack a day bag with food and water, make targets and stands out of scrap pallets and cardboard, grab the carcano and go, the whole nine yards. I once spent an entire weekend out in the desert camping out and learning how to shoot long distances. I walked several miles putting up targets and taking them down afterward that weekend. It was three days of sagebrush, snakes, bugs, dirt, filth, sweat, and itching everywhere on my body. I loved it.

Now I just put a range bag in the car and go shoot for an hour or two at the range which has air conditioning.

When I am Out West, I can just walk out on the back deck. There's a stump on the back corner which is turning into wood chips.

I keep thinking it'd be nice to have a place where I could shoot off the porch. Lots of places like that in Ky, Va, West VA, & Tn but I'm not really into the pain of moving an entire household including critters that far. Not at my age.

Plus there's that snow thing. Ewww...

I think I might get a musket from an antiques dealer and fire off a bucket of ammunition in the back yard. The neighbors will understand that I'm only exercising 2A rights. Then I'll set up a camera to record the tags of every vehicle going in and out of the Pentagon. That's my 1A rights.

Actually, the snow is less annoying (because there is less of it) Out West as compared to Back East. Issue is, I'm both places right now. Kinda First World "issue," really.

<--- wholeheartedly supports you doing this.

Deplorables: I can handle the complexity of a weapon which can kill.

Also Deplorables: But I can't figure out how to quote others in a forum without double-posting - something a 7-year-old can probably do.

A major legal decision regarding high capacity magazines was just handed down in California today. Hint: It didn't go the way the State wanted it to.

We returned from muzzleloader elk season last week give or take a few days my hunting partner knocked down a nice cow elk with a .54 cal 435 gr. Maxie ball in front of 100 gr ff blackpower....she went down like she was pole axed..?.. we enjoyed fresh liver and onions.... some days it pays to get up...

Bow season for Elk now 'round these parts. Smoke Pole season starts around the 1st of Oct. and then ANY LEGAL WEAPON starts mid. Oct.

Not many of those 2A decisions are going the way the states want them to these days.

It seems to me that if they were as interested in "common sense" in practice as much as in rhetoric, they'd have done something before November 2022. Like the Clittons did when they got all over it. And the backlash known as The Contract With 'Murrika.

Then again, maybe it's smarter long-term to keep it as rhetoric to keep the faithful coming to the ballot boxes.

Wat, why are you so cynical???

I have that sort of setup. All these hills make natural burms...
