Maybe it is just me, but it looks like, of late, there has been a decline in the number of hits submissions are getting. Then again, I look at the Romance section as that is where I mostly post. Is anyone seeing a noticeable change in the numbers?

It usually does this time of year. School is starting and people are in flux. Life gets in the way of reading.

I’m getting less comments than normal. Then I haven’t published anything since Summer Lovin’.

Em

I got a lot of votes and comments on my Summer Lovin' entry, we'll see what happens for Halloween, that tome is ready to launch.
I've got a flock of entries but they're waiting for November and December. Besides, the kids should be studying!

As you all know, I read and comment a lot. However, even I have not been commenting as much. They are very few well written stories coming out in my favorite genres, and at times I am not even finishing the story. Just maybe waiting for Halloween stories to come around

What's your favorite genres?

I can go days, weeks at a time without new comments, adds or favorites.

Then all of a sudden I get a bunch in a row.

Obviously a lot of that depends on how frequent one publishes and stays in the public eye.

Then of course category and how much interest any individual story generates with any given reader.

A brand new published story can get ignored by readers simply because they didn't like the category. Or even the title.

Meanwhile a five year old story can generate constant views because it catches a readers attention when it comes up in a search.

Way too many variables to factor in on why any author or their story gets read or not.

What's your favorite genres?
Loving Wives, but go down the list in the morning, starting with EC, EV, fetish, gay (the gay thing doesn't interest me at all, but occasionally will find a Loving wives story put there because there was MM action between the husband and her lover, usually fomented by the wife), Group, IR (occasionally will find a well written story without all the porn trope crap about little white wife losing her mind over BBC), occasionally will find a well written love story down in the Trans section. One of the problems with Loving Wives is that there is a lot of stories published there that actually belong in Fetish or BDSM, as there is no loving wife. It distorts the genre.

You named every single category I avoid. I do post in EC and occasionally EH, but I've gone back to my roots doing Sci-fi lately.

Well she's probably loving someone. Which I believe is actually the intended meaning of the category name.

Due to my life experiences, I have always been a big fan of loving and consensual nonmonogamy, in almost all of its variations, though I have upon occasion scratched an itch for a cheating wife, so I look for well written stories of that type. They can be found in almost all the genres, except maybe non-consent, but I don't go there, so I don't know. I currently have two stories about 75% finished that deal with this topic, one of which just flirts with the topic, and the other which dives right in, but not the way readers will be expecting

Another reader challenged me to do a LW story and I was tempted to do the wife dresses up, goes to a bar, picks up a sexy guy and off they go to the motel for a night of bondage and other fun stuff but in the end it turns out she picked up her husband, a fully monogamist affair just to rile the ire of the LW crowd.

I tend not to tease the alligators however.

My overall views remain fairly consistent. I haven't published anything in a few months, so my numbers are background numbers rather than numbers for new stories, but I think they provide a decent clue as to whether views overall are going down, and I see no evidence that they are.

It would be interesting to see a graph of Lit page-views by month. I’d guess there’s a spike in the northern hemisphere winter. The good weather months offer so many other options for entertainment.

This whole "no loving wife" comment is something I see a lot. Let me ask you, what do you think the category should be? Should it be stories of amazing husbands and faithful devoted wives deeply in love? The niche of LW is based on extra marital affairs. If you and your ilk had it your way the stories would be no different from romance or basic EC stories as there is no actual kink or draw to it otherwise.

I think what you want is to download and read the housewives handbook from 1950

I will try not to pigeonhole you, but it seems as if you are already doing that by your comment. There is a very noisy, screaming cabal down in the LW arena that feel that any time a woman has sex outside the marriage, whether it be cheating, or consensual activity of any sort, by default, she is no longer a loving wife, as if she loved him, she wouldn't have done that (marriage vows and all that). Now there are egregious cases otherwise, but for the most part, that is a crock of shit. Even in the cheating arena, most women still love their husbands dearly, but they are able to compartmentalize those two parts of their life.

What I was referring to is cases where there is cruelty, SPH, extreme humiliation, chastity, and in cases where in a not loving manner, she forces the husband to service the lover. In these cases, she is not a loving wife, but a cruel cunt terrorizing a weak man. These are BDSM or Fetish, with the cuckolding just a by-product.

Most cases of nonmonogamy consist of a husband and wife walking that road hand in hand, as equals, even in the cuckold arena

Real men fear real airplanes

I looked at some images of American planes, including B-52s. However, it seemed less controversial to show a German plane from World World II, swastika and all. I didn't want to get into the decades of post-war politics, in other words.

So these will be in service - for how much longer?

They have just upgraded the engines and the avionics.

There's always been an apparent slow down in traffic at this time of year, in all the time I've been on Lit (which is coming up to ten years).
