Fresh grist for the anti-vaxxer mills.

Government says it'll be the only new vaccine through the end of 2024

Going to get the booster? I will.

I typically get my flu shot around October, so good timing. They are combining the two this season, I've heard 👍

I can’t wait!! Nothing like getting a vaccine that doesn’t prevent the disease. Anyone want one that allows a lil bit of polio or rabies?
Every person...every single person...has had polio. They simply didn't know they had it because when the catch the disease...it replicates in the body slow enough that the vaccine you got is able to jumpstart your immune system faster to prevent you from being symptomatic.

The problem with covid or any flu...if you catch it...it replicates in the body faster than the immune jumpstart and you become symptomatic.

Two facts:
1) No vaccine prevents a viral disease. None. All it does is EXPOSE you to the disease under a controlled environment so your body can start the immune response.

2) All vaccines work. The ONLY WAY TO KILL A VIRUS is through our immune system. Antiviral meds only slow down the viral repl8cation rate allowing our immune system to do its thing

But this is exactly the kind if response I want to see from pieces of shit. We don't care if you get sick or if you die. That is your choice. Our choice...is to let you make your choice and move on. We will no longer try to save you

Of course I will.
I have an aortic graft due to a ruptured aneurysm,it is infected and I am on antibiotics for life.
I need another infection like another hole in the head.

You blew out your aorta and lived to tell the tale?
:oops::oops::oops:
What ARE you? Some kind of immortal?

Seems like it,brought back after heart stopped on the operating table, total system shutdown, coma for 15 days seven weeks in hospital, second graft after first failed.
What pisses me off is that I can't win the lottery.
Still I am grateful to be here.

Jaysus, when the next Civil War erupts, I want you on my side. You are one resilient bastard.

You're one lucky dude!! Pretty tough too, by the sounds of it.

How many shots are recommeded now? So many boosters and updates sounds like enshittification.

You are functioning as lab rats,
There is now more data on COVID vaccines then there ever has for any other drug (trials or not). 6 billion people worldwide have been administered a "shot".

We may be "lab rats", but you're among the outcasts. Until you have witnessed an un-vaccinated love one dying, begging for the vaccine or anything else that would cure the virus, you're just an uninformed idiot.

You keep crowing about 6 billion people getting the shot. The real number is more like 5.7 billion (I rounded up) but I'm willing to let you have 6 billion because you're enthusiastic and I'm generous.
tl:dr

Fuck off idiot, you need to learn to breath through your nose. 6 Billion doses, the data doesn't follow your views...*chuckles*

"but...but...teh longterm effects" is a pretty weaksauce justification.

Reminds me of Ishmael in Vietnam insisting on being prescribed arsenic instead of penicillin to treat his syphillis, because "arsenic was good enough for his daddy's syphillis and we didn't (and still don't) know the long term effects of penicillin..."

I am curious. What is at stake for you?

Why, as someone who has taken the shots, and intends to keep taking them, is it so upsetting that some people have not?

If you go to a restaurant and wash your hands why do you care if the staff washes their hands?

Because I hate unnecessary death, yours I would be fine with but you could pass Covid onto someone else who cannot take the vaccine.

Prior to COVID... the fastest ever vaccine testing and approval was for mumps. That one took 4 years.

Covid vaccine took 8 months. Boosters apparently take no time at all.
I too long for those bygone days when it took me a full day to ride horse and buggy into town for supplies.
