Is It Abandon Ship For The USS DeSantis?

These people treat running for the president like it’s a popularity contest. Just because you go viral and are the flavor of the moment doesn’t mean you have staying power. I really think Ron needs more experience before he is capable of running the country. He’s going to win against Disney, but it isn’t really a contest, Disney doesn’t trump Florida law. His parental rights bill is great, but one bill when you have the support of most of Florida is barely a win. He hasn’t been tested and he had no foreign policy experience. He should check his ego, accept a VP position and run again next time.

That is actually a good analysis, but only part of the issue.

The bigger problem is the white elephant in the room- the NON-white population of America who will want no part of an open and outspoken racist as their president. And even the moderate and yes, moderate-conservative, center-right thinking Americans who will not look past his more toxic and nefarious social views. I mean, the guy is an outspoken racist- and this isn't the 1950's Jim Crow America anymore. And most people outside of Florida (and a growing number of them INSIDE Florida as well, I suspect) don't WANT a return to 1950's Jim Crow America.

The guy is pretty much unelectable, basically- no matter what his experience is.

I can’t speak to him being racist or not because I didn’t watch the debate and have not followed him other than Disney and his parental rights bill.

You’re being ridiculous talking about Jim Crow when Biden is racist as well. See how easy it is to call people racist? To be clear, I do believe Biden is a racist, but he was elected and I don’t see segregation or hating groups of people because of the color of their skin or giving preferential treatment to people based on skin color alone or…oh wait…

But the reality here is that there is a plethora of evidence that clearly shows DeSantis is racist, or wants people to think he is.

The electoral votes and money of the big red states may push someone else into the race.

Again I have not seen it or looked for it. I’m not voting for him so his views at this time are not on my radar. I believe most people have prejudices that would qualify them as racist, so if DeSantis is racist, then he’s no different than Biden. I don’t see you having a fit over him.

Speaking of blaming Trump for Biden’s fuckups, now the Dems by proxy have a new angle to attack Trump * project 65 * a group of high profile legal beagles going after any attorney willing to lawyer for Trump. I would think that would be against the sixth A. These progressive Marxist are surely a persistent bunch.
Their names and addresses are being collected for publication.

So again, that’s not reality. There’s no evidence of Biden being racist.

I was going to point this out but, you know, Hisarpy either doesn't remember Trump ripping up the treaty, or doesn't have the intellectual capacity to understand that this is exactly why Iran has been stockpiling weapons, and will still somehow, using some infantile logic, continue to defend Trump pulling out of the treaty.

Part of my frustration with continuing to interact with intellectually inferior men. I realize that makes me sound like an arrogant jackass, but those of us who have been on these forums a while, know I am actually being humble (yet bluntly honest) here.

And he thinks DeSantis is a "Good Governor." Says it all right there, doesn't it. He obviously likes DeSantis because of his racist views, but probably couldn't name one policy he has enacted that has actually helped the state.
Pretty much yes. I feel the need to reply to lies to defeat the Goebbels strategy.

There are disturbing suggestions that among the reasons lawyers are declining the case is because they fear legal and career reprisals.
Exactly, Icanthelpmyself. There are suggestions...and that's it.

Actually it was a good idea, just with the wrong candidate.

DeSantis is a good governor. He has people around him to help him do what he needs to be doing for his State but without them he would not be governor. He's lackluster in personality and not a "true leader" because he isn't very dynamic.

He lacks "it." As does the rest of the field running for President other than Trump.

Were there someone with "it" who could credibly run against Trump the primary race would be completely different. Unfortunately for the field Trump set the standard; he's dynamic, personable, well known, and accomplished politically and socially. At this point there isn't anyone who can match any of that because while there are others who have a few or most of those qualities, none of them have true desire to BE President. And those with the desire lack the other qualities necessary to defeat Trump.

Sign of the times. I anticipate that 2028 will be full of barely B grade candidates but 2032 will have a strong candidate appear from out of nowhere.

He will not be LGBT or a woman.
That's an interesting way of describing Trump. I would have called him a lying, sexual assaulting, moron currently under indictment for 91 felony counts.

Another poster who doesn't support Trump shows their true colors.

This is why Iran has even more Nuke material than before Biden was elected. This is why Saudi Arabia won't sell oil to the US. This is why Russia attacked Ukraine and why NATO is already backtracking on its agreement to pay its fair share for the defense of their own countries. This is why China is buying land around our military bases, ag land in the midwest and then "over-buying" seed for those properties, flying spy balloons over our nation, challenging us in the China sea and Taiwan Straight, seizing land from India, etc etc etc.

Because, according to you, "Trump exists" even though he's not President anymore and while he WAS President none of that was happening to the extent it is today.
Ah, you drank the kool-aid.

Also, a “nearly flawless campaign“. Jeebus

Early on, I thought he had a decent shot at the nomination. In hindsight, I can’t think of anyone that has or ever had a chance. With just over a year to go, national polls have Biden and Trump tied. Doubt anyone could have predicted that a year ago. Maybe a Senate run or a 2028 presidential run is his next move.

So you quit the "bailing brigade" eh?

I'm pretty sure you know the answer: it's because he's convinced Trump is all-powerful and can't fail, he can only be failed. But don't call it a cult!

1. They're not "going after any attorney willing to lawyer for Trump"; they're going after the attorneys who participated in his effort to overturn the 2020 election (the name refers to the number of lawsuits they filed, almost all of which they lost).
2. If they did want to target any and all lawyers willing to work for Trump, I can't imagine they'd have much to do. The man is already notorious for never paying his bills.
You aren't very well informed.

If you break the law as a lawyer, then you will be prosecuted for it.

The only thing a lawyer should know when representing Trump is that you'll be doing it for free because he doesn't pay his lawyers.
You lie a lot, an awful lot.
