Abandon Ship!! Former DeSantis Super PAC Co-Chair Denounces the Florida Governor’s Presidential Bid

By Brian Lupo Sep. 4, 2023 7:07 pm

Earlier today, The Gateway Pundit reported that DeSantis Super PAC founder John Thomas admits DeSantis’s “failure to launch” after they “drafted” DeSantis to run because they believed “he’s got the stuff.” Thomas said President Trump has run a “nearly flawless campaign” and that “we are revers[ing] course to get behind Donald Trump”. Thomas joins a trio esteemed members of DeSantis-supporting PACs that seem to be gun-shy of the Florida Governor’s chances as funding is drying up in the DeSantis camp after laying off staff in July after “rapidly burning through cash.

Running against Trump was always a losing idea.

The kicker is, that idiot is going from backing DeSatanist, to backing Drumpf.

Talk about going from bad to worse, and “really knowing how to pick ‘em”.

🙄

JFC

SAD!!!

"Running against Trump was always a losing idea."

Why are you and the gateway pundit failing to give the DeSantis campaign, his lack of clarifying any policy, including his signature "woke" ideology, and the fact that Ron DeSantis suffers from occupying the reptilian skin of Ron DeSantis its due credit in the failings of Ron DeSantis.

Actually it was a good idea, just with the wrong candidate.

DeSantis is a good governor. He has people around him to help him do what he needs to be doing for his State but without them he would not be governor. He's lackluster in personality and not a "true leader" because he isn't very dynamic.

He lacks "it." As does the rest of the field running for President other than Trump.

Were there someone with "it" who could credibly run against Trump the primary race would be completely different. Unfortunately for the field Trump set the standard; he's dynamic, personable, well known, and accomplished politically and socially. At this point there isn't anyone who can match any of that because while there are others who have a few or most of those qualities, none of them have true desire to BE President. And those with the desire lack the other qualities necessary to defeat Trump.

Sign of the times. I anticipate that 2028 will be full of barely B grade candidates but 2032 will have a strong candidate appear from out of nowhere.

He will not be LGBT or a woman.

DeSantis' only policy is to out-Trump Trump. Surely he didn't come to be Governor by acting out in this way.

As Graham once said 'If we nominate Trump we will get destroyed and we will deserve it'. The lack of credible alternatives to Biden in the current crop is fulfilment of that prophesy. The public face of the GOP now is a mixture of kippers* and total goonies who shouldn't be allowed near a school board never mind the Presidency.

It doesn't bode well for American politics when we see candidates who are unable to face down someone with Trumps record of insulting the military, the disabled, foreign dignitaries and everyone else within reach. The man is crass and an international embarrassment. It's not that long since a candidate was laughed out for mis-spelling potatoes, another for claiming they invented the internet.

America must be able to do better.

(*two-faced and spineless)

Nobody says you have to vote for the guy.

The US is losing credibility around the world every day that Trump exists as a candidate. This should concern Republicans but it clearly doesn't.

This is why Iran has even more Nuke material than before Biden was elected. This is why Saudi Arabia won't sell oil to the US. This is why Russia attacked Ukraine and why NATO is already backtracking on its agreement to pay its fair share for the defense of their own countries. This is why China is buying land around our military bases, ag land in the midwest and then "over-buying" seed for those properties, flying spy balloons over our nation, challenging us in the China sea and Taiwan Straight, seizing land from India, etc etc etc.

Because, according to you, "Trump exists" even though he's not President anymore and while he WAS President none of that was happening to the extent it is today.

Iran is developing nukes because Trump ripped up the treaty that stopped that from happening.

Trump didn't suggest any laws to stop Chinese from buying land and Saudi Arabia paid Jared Kushner (who failed vetting) over $2billion for secrets relating to Khashoggi.

At random, here are two Spanish news sites with items on Trump. This is typical of what Europe and the world is seeing.

Dudly, Iran was making weapons grade nuke material while Obama was still in office. The fact that you either didn't know that, or purposefully ignored it, to rip on Trump is telling about your truthfulness.

Your BULLSHIT about Kushner is just that, bullshit. The Saudi's paid Kushner to set up a holding company, which he did because that's what he does on Wall Street. The trail for the money is publicly available. Again, the fact that you either didn't know that, or purposefully LIED about it, proves the lack of truthfulness on your part.

The lack of your recognizing the military issues in the S. China Sea/Straight of Taiwan, NK's involvement with Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and all the rest only underscore how fucking retarded you are when it comes to blaming Trump for everything JOE FUCKING BIDEN has done in his corrupt quest to FUCK OVER THE ENTIRE WORLD but most especially the American Citizen. For money. Something progressives like you profess to claim is "evil."

That ^ is an unhinged, totally detached from reality, bizarro world assessment of recent history.

IOW - A typical Harpy meltdown screed.

Speaking of blaming Trump for Biden’s fuckups, now the Dems by proxy have a new angle to attack Trump * project 65 * a group of high profile legal beagles going after any attorney willing to lawyer for Trump. I would think that would be against the sixth A. These progressive Marxist are surely a persistent bunch.

I'm pretty sure you know the answer: it's because he's convinced Trump is all-powerful and can't fail, he can only be failed. But don't call it a cult!

1. They're not "going after any attorney willing to lawyer for Trump"; they're going after the attorneys who participated in his effort to overturn the 2020 election (the name refers to the number of lawsuits they filed, almost all of which they lost).
2. If they did want to target any and all lawyers willing to work for Trump, I can't imagine they'd have much to do. The man is already notorious for never paying his bills.

There are disturbing suggestions that among the reasons lawyers are declining the case is because they fear legal and career reprisals.
  • There is a nefarious group that calls itself The 65 Project that has as its goal to intimidate lawyers into not representing Trump or anyone associated with him. They have threatened to file bar charges against any such lawyers.
  • I wrote an op-ed offering to defend pro bono any lawyers that The 65 Project goes after. So The 65 Project immediately went after me, and contrived a charge based on a case in which I was a constitutional consultant, but designed to send a message to potential Trump lawyers: If you defend Trump or anyone associated with him, we will target you and find something to charge you with. The lawyers to whom I spoke are fully aware of this threat -- and they are taking it seriously.... It may even be worse today....
  • Good lawyers... generally welcome challenges, especially in high-profile cases. This case is different: the threats to the lawyers are greater than at any time since McCarthyism. Nor is the comparison to McCarthyism a stretch. I recall during the 1950s how civil liberties lawyers, many of whom despised communism, were cancelled, and attacked if they dared to represent people accused of being communists.

If you break the law as a lawyer, then you will be prosecuted for it.

The only thing a lawyer should know when representing Trump is that you'll be doing it for free because he doesn't pay his lawyers.

I was going to point this out but, you know, Hisarpy either doesn't remember Trump ripping up the treaty, or doesn't have the intellectual capacity to understand that this is exactly why Iran has been stockpiling weapons, and will still somehow, using some infantile logic, continue to defend Trump pulling out of the treaty.

Part of my frustration with continuing to interact with intellectually inferior men. I realize that makes me sound like an arrogant jackass, but those of us who have been on these forums a while, know I am actually being humble (yet bluntly honest) here.

And he thinks DeSantis is a "Good Governor." Says it all right there, doesn't it. He obviously likes DeSantis because of his racist views, but probably couldn't name one policy he has enacted that has actually helped the state.

Hey dumbfuck, who pulled the USA out of the JCPOA? I got news for you Carbon Water Boy, it wasn't Biden!

Just like the rest of your bullshit you wrote, you fail to grasp reality....

Yes they were. right up until JCPOA was signed. After that the "independent" nuclear inspectors all testified Iran had ceased enrichment productions.
Your BULLSHIT
NO Dumbfuck, you're the Bullshit artist. You've gotten so fucking stupid here over the last three years, it is mind boggling. I think you not only drink the Carbon Water, you're now showering with it, and I suspect you went and pulled an old waterbed out of storage and sleep on the stuff!!
