Hiding my avatar

I want to hide my avatar. I'm writing/posting in a public place.

I used to be able to do that in my Preferences. I think I used to do it by turning off images. Now I can't find that option.

Can anyone tell me where to find that option.

I think you have to upload a new image and wait for it to be approved. I've never seen a hide avatar feature. (I am newish though)

I think that if you go your profile and click on your av, it gives you the option to delete it. Hope this helps.

Oh, wait, no: I don't want to delete it. I want to hide it.

There used to be an option to hide images, which would hide all avatars while you were scrolling through threads.

That's what I can't find.

I think I know what you mean - there were different page styles/formats you could choose through account preferences to avoid displaying all images unless you clicked the link. I suspect that disappeared when the current site format was introduced. I don't remember being able to hide one's own AV - it would hide them all.

If you're trying to speed up your scrolling then you may have an option in your browser preferences.
