Old School Musicianship… Rock and Roll.. Jazz… Blues… Big Band even…

Lawyers, Guns and Money

Good song, great album, but the absolute gem from the album is Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner. Only Warren Zevon could write a song about a man's murder and the dead man's vengeance, make it work, and do it with a touch of humor! Sadly, most people only know him for one song, when his entire catalog is chock full of great music.

I am not familiar with his music, but one day I did see a werewolf drinking a piña colada at Trader Vic's (if that is worth anything).

Gary Wright's Wonderwheel - I Know (1972)

The same Gary Wright who would go on a few years later with the big hit Dreamweaver, among others. This song rocks harder than the mellow solo hits he'd be known for, due in sure, in part, by the contributions of a pre-Foreigner Mick Jones who was a member of Wonderwheel.

Hey Elmo, I very much appreciate your contributions… but please remember, this thread is about the well known songs (old friends), not about the songs that we haven’t heard before. I loves Dream Weaver, and Love Is Alive is a favorite of mine (even though I was crushed to find out that cool bass line was played in a keyboard). 😊😊😊🥰🥰🥰🥰

My apologies, I sincerely didn't mean to take things off-topic. It won't happen again.

No apology needed - it is all good! 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

I just want to try to avoid this from becoming a “dig this super cool obscure tune!” thread. Maybe someone should make such a thread, but it won’t be me. 😊😊😊😊😊😊
